'The Vampire Diaries': A new witch on the way; Plus, can Bonnie kill Klaus alone?
Ding-dong, the witch is dead. Thursday's Feb. 24 episode of "The Vampire Diaries" bid adieu to our first warlocks, Dr. Jonas Martin and his son, Luka Martin, affectionately (or not-so-affectionately) known as the ManWitches. With her powers returned to her, that leaves Bonnie (Katerina Graham) as the last witch in Mystic Falls... but not for long. We'll meet Greta Martin, Luka's sister, when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) comes to town in this season's 19th episode, airing April 21. He's been holding her captive as he tries to find a new way to break the sun and moon curse -- at least, that's what Luka and Dr. Martin believe.
According to "The Vampire Diaries" casting call, Greta is described as in her 20s, "African-American, cool, hip, smart. A bit of a thrill-seeker."
Who are your casting suggestions? "Greek's" Amber Stevens immediately comes to mind -- she's played the sweet, bubbly role of Ashleigh for four seasons. Now that that's come to an end, we'd love to see her sink her teeth into something a little darker. Of course, that's just our wild speculation. We'll keep you guys posted as official casting news comes in.
As it stands right now, Bonnie has a terrifying mission ahead of her. Before he died, Dr. Martin gave her the secret of killing Klaus -- which may be the only way to save Elena (Nina Dobrev). Elena won't be the only one in danger if Klaus' sacrifice goes as planned. The oldest vampire in the history of time also needs a vampire, a werewolf, and yes, a witch to throw into the mix.
We always read the comments that you leave on Zap2it articles, so we've seen that some fans have been dissatisfied with Bonnie's story thus far this season. Luckily, it's looking more and more like our girl is going to get a chance at a big, heroic moment. But is she strong enough to save Mystic Falls from the wrath of Klaus?
Bonnie has overestimated her own abilities before -- like when she tried to get Jeremy out of the tomb to keep him from becoming Katherine's personal blood-fountain. Her grandmother overestimated their strength as well, which turned out to be a fatal flaw. Will Bonnie, with the help of plenty of "energy" from the witches who have died in Mystic Falls in the past, be able to pull off the ultimate save?

Yay Lukaburger and Daddy are gone... I want Bonnie's cousin Lucy to come back. She has tons of potential and I hear the chick who plays Emily Bennet is coming back. Another YAY. I hope Bonnie has some kick butt magic scenes. She's been kind of dull lately.
Bonnie = BORING. I hope she dies so we can focus on the more interesting/pretty people.
I hope vd keeps its magic up all around on the show.. what a great cast ensemble vd has.. Everything is interesting.. Wasn't a fan of the stefan/elena/damon love triangle but love the season 2 storyline with elena as the doppleganger.. also caroline turning, werewolves, bonnie and jeremy are interesting.. I'm glad the warlocks died. and katherine is definitely going to heat things up as well... Can't wait until april is here as isobel returns and things will sure to intensify.. I wish vd has 30 episodes a year I'm addicted to this show which is a good thing because no one puts CW and addicted in the same sentence.. lol
Bonnie is my favorite female character on the show. I don't understand people who don't like her. She's been my favorite since the show began.
As my favourite female on the show, im rather excited that she's the one that holds the key to defeating Klaus. I honestly don't think she'll be strong enough to do it on her own. This is where hopefully Greta and Lucy come in. Along with the burial ground I believe she can do it. The others can help in some way, but it's obvious that the witches have GOT THIS.
But mostly I just want her character to get more development outside of her powers. it seems to define her in a way I don't like. where does she live? what's the deal with her parents? why did her mother leave? Does her father know about witchcraft?
One thing I've been wondering from the last episode - they talked alot about when a witch dies violently there is strong energy left in their place. Does this mean something now for the Gilbert house seeing as how Dr. Manwitch was killed?
It's not disliking Bonnie's story, it's just Katerina. She doesn't really do much for me. I love that Bonnie is making Jeremy so happy now and bubbly Katerina as Bonnie is more fun than anything else she's done, but I wouldn't spill tears if she were killed off. Maybe a few for Jeremy's sake, but none for her. If Jeremy dies to save her because she is too cocky and dumb about how much power she has I will be extremely pissed.
My sister and I think that Bonnie is Evil
now/posessed by Jonas. Something was very off about her in that last scene w/ Jeremy. I think instead of protecting Elena from Klaus she'll be trying to sacrfice her. She'll use the friend thing to her advantage.we've been pretty on point with our predictions this season. Honestly I'm not a Bonnie fan, I love Kat Graham just don't like Bonnie. She's boring to me and I don't like her with Jeremy she takes away from
his character in my opinion. I wouldn't be sad if she left Mystic Falls or got killed off. Like someone If Jeremy gets killed off for saving Bonnie because of her doing something idiotic, I will be pissed and potentially Doe w/ TVD.

im glad dr martin died, he was a pain in the... well yeah, his son probably would have been ok without his dads influence though he annoyed me too.
chris you said you cant wait till april when Isobel returns... well she kind of returned already she showed up at their door right at the end of the episode that aired in australia last night on GO.
I think youre right Anna, maybe Bonnie will feel more empowered when she practices at Elenas house shel be better for it.
and i agree with you Ana, something was weird about her after that, though she could have just been all quite from being in shock, she seems to get like that. i guess we will find out =P
