'Supernatural': Will the Winchesters say goodbye to an old ally?
The average character's lifespan on "Supernatural" hovers somewhere around 42 minutes, and it's been a couple of episodes since a recurring favorite has been killed off. (We miss you, Crowley.) Looks like we're due for another Very Winchester Funeral. In this week's episode, "...And Then There Were None," the Winchesters and Bobby will fight another unfamiliar monster, and this time, it's all hands on deck. When Bobby and Rufus unexpectedly bump into each other on the scene, they decide to partner up for old times' sake.
"As long as I get to drive," Bobby says -- which reminds of a little of when Sam and Dean first got back on the road together after Sam's little Stanford sojourn. Awwwww!
Our warm-and-fuzzies are unlikely to last long, because we know somebody's dying in this episode. Bobby, Rufus, Sam, and Dean will be joined by the last Campbells standing -- Samuel and Gwen -- as they hunt down the monster, which has an unnerving habit of getting between your ears. Word is that Bobby and Samuel will strongly disagree on how to handle the case. No surprise there, since Samuel has a tendency to handle everything wrong.
Is it so wrong to hope that Samuel will be the one to kick the bucket? It's time. Things rarely go our way on this show, though...

S Dnem Rozhdeniem DIN!!!
I hope that it's not Rufus, he is an awsome character.
While I hold out hope that Supernatural will not kill off another vital character,I do not hold out much hope that it won't happen. There has always been an ageist slant to this fandom, and I have read (mostly semi-literate) rants from the new, much curried teenybopper fanbase who are the main posters here, calling for expunging Bobby or anyone else who is not a handsome hunk on the show. Poor, feebleminded children...Anyway, I hope it is not Bobby or Rufus. Both of them have been invaluable allies over the years, and Bobby in particular is an important father figure, as well as the most knowledgeable hunter the Boys' know. And he may be the only hope the show has to keep we grown-up viewers tuning in. Nice to see one character who has so far beaten the murderous impulses of Supernatural's writing staff.
Samuel and Gwen will be the "surprised" deaths. Two for for the price that were expecting only one. No more Campbells!
No I don't want to be gramps at all. I love this character. I love what he brings to the s/l of the Winchesters. I also love Rufus, I wish they wouldn't kill off good characters and actors all the time.
Rufuuuuus! noooo!!!! What about Grandpa Campbell! He's a nutjob and a family backstabber...
Bobby would be a weird choice, and, well, if it were the brothers, they come back everytime, so Im not that worried :D
Hopefully Rufus gets to live, I love his tag team with Bobby, makes them look young and funny.
As dreary and boring as S6's soulless Sam and Domestic Dean has been, I expect it to be Rufus, since he and Bobby have become my favorite hunters this season. Yep, I expect to be disappointed that sicko Sampa and even creepier Gwen will make it through.
Dean promised Grandpa Samuel that the next time they saw each other Dean would kill him for his betrayal. I would had for Dean to be a liar, bye bye naughty Gramps!
I really hope it's Samuel who dies. I don't care about him or his creepy quest to bring his long dead daughter back to life. And any guy willing to sacrifice his grandsons to a demon isn't worth keeping around. Rufus is awesome and I would love to see more of him. But I know how this show works. Samuel will live just because he's a relative and gets another chance to redeem himself. While Rufus will die.
Van, I'm 50 and I'm super confident that I am older than you. I agree that there are way too much screechy teenage silliness going about here. But I think it's fun how the writers are stomping on our hearts once in a while. Life wouldn't be fun without tears and tragic as well as horror right? (Only in the play)
