'Smallville': Chloe returns to Smallville, Clark takes flight (sort of)
Chloe (Allison Mack) made her triumphant return to "Smallville" in tonight's episode, "Collateral," and she sure tested Clark's (Tom Welling) friendship more than ever before. With Clark, Oliver (Justin Hartley), Lois (Erica Durance), and Dinah (Alaina Huffman) trapped in a virtual reality that would ultimately kill them, Chloe (or at least, her avatar) was their only hope. You know when you're a kid, and your mom says, "Well, if your best friend jumped off a bridge, would you do it, too?" Tonight's episode tested that theory. Chloe had to convince all of her friends to follow her off the roof of the virtual Daily Planet, just because she asked them to.
Oliver was a relatively easy sell, and after an awesome fight scene, Dinah saw the light... but Clark was harder to crack. After all they've been through, Clark was still burned by Chloe's hasty exit when she sacrificed herself to the suicide squad.
Ultimately, it was Lois who reminded Clark of Chloe's unfailing reliability, and the two of them took the jump off the building. Sort of.
For the first time, we saw Clark actually fly - with Lois in his arms, of course. We watched them circle the Daily Planet globe, wind in their hair, before hitting the vortex that sent them back to reality.
The question remains -- can Clark fly in the real world like he can fly in the virtual world? When will we see him try?
Despite the virtual barrier, there's no denying that the scene was iconic. As we approach the end of the series, no episode is wasted.
Back in reality, Clark and Chloe had a much-needed bonding moment as she looked through old photos, and he finally acknowledged the extraordinary amount of faith she had in him through all the years he kept her in the dark.
"You knew that I was lying to you, and still you looked me in the eye every day and you trusted me," he said.
"That's the true test of believing someone - knowing that their lies are there to protect you," she replied. "It's not really trust if you ask someone to believe in you."
After agreeing to be Lois's Maid of Honor at their wedding (does that mean we'll see the wedding?), Chloe went to meet Oliver, who was waiting with a giant bouquet of roses and a speech that could make anyone swoon.
So what did you think of Chloe's big homecoming, "Smallville" fans? Did you trust her from the start? Are you glad to see her and Oliver back together? Did it bother you that Clark couldn't believe her right away? Weigh in below in our comments section. We can't wait to hear your thoughts!

I think I lost much time with Chloe, the show is about Clark Kent, not on her friend unstable. I trusted her to the seventh season, after Chloe was possessed by Brainiac she NEVER BEEN THE SAME, nor will be again. Not to mention that she made several statements that are envious relationship with his cousin! Chloe should have a good ending and thats it. She no longer belongs to Smallville for several seasons, that saved the episode was the moment that Clark flew with Lois, which he could actually YES, since it has been shown that it can float being relaxed and in tune with the universe. We deserve to see the wedding happen but if not, there is no point in a relationship of Superman and Lois Lane.
ps: Oliver should stick with the fact that Tess did sorely lacking in collateral and who has a history with him from the island.

Thank you
Clark and Lois were best, that was a wicked flight scene! He'll fly in the real world soon no doubt about it. Rock on Clark and Lois!
Im sooooooooo glad the chloe is back hopefully for a while b/c i have been out of the loop about how many episodes A.M. will be in the season. I loved the whole episode can't wait for the others.
Clark should have either tried or actully fly ou tof the barn window at the end. It would have been sweet!
I am happy Chloe Sullivan returns.
The show is nothing without her. After Clark she's the center of the attention.
I trusted Chloe the whole time and I can't believe Clark didn't jump with her and Oliver. I want her to stay on.
Can someone explain Chloe's whole "I can't believe it's been five years" quote after looking at the pictures? Was she talking about the time since she's known about Clark's secret, or did I somehow miss a 5 year time jump?
Allison Mack,in my eyes, always outshined Tom Welling throughout the years. She is a terrific, albiet underrated, actress.
Chloe was such a role-model for me back when the show started. She is a fantastic character who unfortunately was treated badly by some tactless writers. But I digress- Chloe is back, biatches! And I love it.
I hated Clark though. Seriously after everthing that girl did for him, even after he continuously broke her heart, she stood by him, helped him, was basically the only intelligence he head. 'Cause he sure didn't inherit any smarts from his alien or adopted parents. But I suppose it was ok for all that to happen because after so long we finally got that 'Chlark' scene at the end that was sorely needed.
So glad to see Chloe. Lois was AMAZINGLY AWESOME. The voice of reason and another example, besides Chloe, of someone having absolute trust and faith in a loved one. And understanding what trust is.
Thrilled to see the beat-down Dinah received (such a terrible on-screen version of a great comic character.) Yuck, leave my screen, please.
And great Chlollie scene at the end.
I hope Chloe and Oliver find a happy ending together. We all know Clark and Lois will, so it's more exciting to see what'll happen with Chloe and Oliver.
Lois is The Key! She's The Key to unlocking Clark's flight potential, first with the Homecoming float-dance, and now full-fledged (if virtual) flight, all because Lois made him believe. And that flight was simply breathtaking--for Lois & Clark as much as the audience!
As for Chloe... well, I gotta admit, I did get a little kick out of seeing Lois knock virtual-Chloe into next week, lol! Seriously speaking, though, it was good to see her again, and it was really good to see her finally make her peace with Clark--and to see she really isn't nursing that unrequited love for him any longer.
All in all, yet another mind-bogglingly amazing episode from this series that somehow keeps getting better and better as we make this final leg in the run of the series. Smallville is without a doubt going out in a Super-blaze of glory!
AMAZING episode! I'm surprised I wasn't dissapointed with what they did with Chloe. I was very happy. Huge smile on my face throughout the whole episode
