Best. News. Ever.We're thrilled to report that TVLine has confirmed Rachel Bilson's casting in "Hart of Dixie," The CW's new drama pilot produced by "The O.C." and "Gossip Girl" dream team of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
Yes. Bilson and Schwartz, together again. The two were developing a supernatural pilot called "Ghost Angeles," which NBC ultimately chose not to pick up, so we're glad they found another project to collaborate on. (Particularly because we thought "Hart of Dixie" had Michelle Trachtenberg written all over it... and we're glad we were wrong.)
Bilson plays a New York City doctor who inherits a private practice in a small southern town. Basically think female-driven "Doc Hollywood" in Stars Hollow with an awesome soundtrack. We can't wait.

While the premise of the show sounds okay at best, anything that puts Rachel Bilson back on my television is okay by me. Very excited to hear about this.
Not surprised they could'nt pull off the supernatural show...he's no Joss Whedon or Eric Kripke.
This is wonderful news! I love Rachel Bilson in almost everything she's in and this new shows sounds a lot like Everwood. I'll definitely be checking it out.

Ugh. The original Leighton Meester...and, boy, that's sure not a good thing. This show suddenly became "must-miss" for me.
Casting is so important, and thus far CW pilots have missed badly on both Danni Lowenski and Hart of Dixie leads. (Both titles, BTW, will repel viewers, as well. Just sayin'...and I'm usually spot-on.)
