MTV 'Skins': American teens want to thank the PTC
While the controversy the Parents Television Council (PTC) created over MTV's "Skins" hasn't necessarily translated into ratings, no one can argue that MTV hasn't gotten some free promotion out of the deal.
And that wasn't lost on the folks at FunnyorDie.com. In the video above, teenagers express exactly why they have nothing but love for the PTC.
Our favorite part?
Teen 1: "I heard there were 42 instances of drugs, sex and alcohol in the first episode alone."
Teen 2: "Sounds like you guys invented a drinking game!"

Skins premiered to 3.2 million viewers / 2.2 18-49 demo ratings.
both numbers fell each week down to to 1.5 million / 1.0 demo -- despite all the 'free publicity'
the only number that stabilized is the underaged 12-17 (that # 'only' fell from 4.1 down to 2.5 for 2 weeks) that a TV-MA show theoretically is not supposed to target.
one way to get people to watch a show is to make a good show.
Whenever someone actually wants to show the truth of what's really goes on with teens..someone has to try and stop it. Do I like what's going on NO but it should raise awareness to parents that they really need to know their teens better!!
I LOVE THE NEW MTV SHOW CALLED SKINS . ME AND MY KIDS WATCH IT EVERY MONDAY NIGHT . WE LOVE THAT SHOW SO MUCH.IT REMIDES MY OF WHEN I WAS A TEEN AGER BACK IN THT LATE 70S AND 80S .GOING TO REVE PARTYS DRINKING BEER DATEING FINE BEACH GIRLS THR SKINS SHOW IT LIKE THE REVE PARTYS I WENNT TO WHEN I WAS 14-17YRS OF AGE IM 39 YEARS OLD NOW .WITH 3 YOUNG TEEN AGE BOYS AND A GIRL 10 AND A WIFE I LOVE SO MUCH I MENT AT A BEACH RAVE PARTY THATS A LAB TECK AT A MAGER HOSPITEL.AND WE THINK THE SKINS IS A WONDER FULL REALTY SHOW.AND IT WAY AWSOME .LIKE ARE SISTER COUNTERYS GERMENEY HOLLAND THAT DOINT CENCER THERE TV SHOWES Y CANT WE BE MOER LIKE THEM AND SHAME ON THOSE TRYING TO BAN SKINS WE LOVE IT AND SO DO R KIDS ITS VERRY WILL DONE SHOW . i'm not going to lie i was one of the skins uk fan and i had very little hope that the us could live up to its standards. but now that ive seen the whole season i feel like they have in fact captured the magic...just with a different vibe. so good job mtv for not ruining this show.
