Pilot Season: TV of Tomorrow
Kiefer Sutherland may have the 'Touch' for FOX
Kiefer Sutherland is considering a return to TV with a starring role in a FOX pilot. The star of "24" is in negotiations to star in "Touch," a drama from "Heroes" creator Tim Kring, Deadline reports. The show is about the father of an autistic boy who discovers his son can predict future events.
Sutherland wrapped filming on "24" about a year ago. He's currently starring with Brian Cox, Chris Noth, Jim Gaffigan and Jason Patric in a revival of "That Championship Season" on Broadway, which could complicate matters for "Touch." The play opened last week and is scheduled to run through May 29, which could mean that Sutherland won't be available to film the pilot until summer. If that turns out to be the case, "Touch" would likely not be in contention for a spot in FOX's lineup until midway through the 2011-12 season.
A movie version of "24," meanwhile, remains in development limbo. Studio 20th Century Fox rejected a script by writer Billy Ray in late December, and there's been little movement on the project since then.
Kring, whose past credits also include "Crossing Jordan" and "Providence," is writing and executive producing "Touch." Charles McDougall ("The Chicago Code," "The Good Wife") is in line to direct.

I hope he doesn't do it. Don't like the show that much and I know something better will turn up if he signs on and can't do the better show.
Love Keifer Sutherland, in just about everything I have seen. It
would be great to see him in a
new TV series, if it happens.
That would be great, I miss him.
Doesn't sound like a very good show. Tim Kring had an awesome first season with Heroes and then he screwed it up.
I love how people can decide a show is no good after reading a single sentence describing the concept.
