'Dancing with the Stars': 'Flashdance's' Jennifer Beals says 'I am not a dancer'
Don't expect "The Chicago Code's" Jennifer Beals to follow in Jennifer Grey's fancy footsteps anytime soon.Aside from sharing a surname, the ladies each starred in their own iconic 1980s dance flick -- Beals in 1983's "Flashdance" and Grey in 1987's "Dirty Dancing."
But while Grey took home the mirrorball trophy on the last season of "Dancing with the Stars," Beals says the show just isn't for her.
"I am not a dancer," Beals tells People. "They asked me and I said 'No.' You could back up a truck to my door filled with cash and I wouldn't do it."
We find it interesting that someone who starred in a dance film is refusing such an offer (even though she didn't do a whole lot of footwork in the actual film), especially after the anti-dancer herself, Bristol Palin, made it all the way to the final three. As for that truck filled with cash, it must have backed up to Palin's door, instead.
Beals says that she knew that "DWTS" wasn't for her after visiting gal pal Marlee Matlin in the ballroom.
"The sound of the audience is so loud and the energy in there is so intense," she explains. "I wanted to start crying just in feeling for [Matlin]... The noise level is so intense and people's excitement level is so intense. I could never. I'm not that kind of performer."

She's not much of an actor either. I tried giving The Chicago Code a chance, but her flat emotionless performance ruins the whole show.
i beg to differ. beals is a consumate actor, and obviously very intelligent and luminous and beautiful.
