'Cougar Town': Ken Jenkins returns as Jules' dad

Courteney Cox has been spotted walking with a cane in the past couple days. But for "Cougar Town" fans, that's not the real news.

In relaying the news that Cox was using a cane -- the result of having undergone minor knee surgery -- PopSugar posted a bunch of photos of Cox and "her 'Cougar Town' co-stars, including Brian Van Holt," filming a scene Wednesday (Feb. 9).

Van Holt is indeed in several shots. But sitting on the other side of Cox, and unidentified in the captions, is "Scrubs" veteran Ken Jenkins, who played Jules' (Cox) father in the show's Halloween episode earlier this season.

A rep for ABC confirms to Zap2it that Jenkins will reprise his role as Chick in the spring. The network also says that Cox's surgery (first reported by Us Weekly) hasn't affected production on "Cougar Town."

"Cougar Town" is scheduled to return to ABC in April. It's currently on hiatus to make room for "Mr. Sunshine," which was co-created by and stars Cox's "Friends" co-star Matthew Perry. The show opened to solid ratings Wednesday night.
