Ashley Judd goes 'Missing' for ABC, Jason Isaacs joins 'REM'
Ashley Judd is taking on her first TV series since the early 1990s, taking the lead role in ABC's upcoming drama "Missing."Judd will play a mother who travels to Europe to search for her son, who disappears while studying in Italy, Variety reports. She's got more than just a love for her child going for her, though -- the character is also a former CIA agent.
ABC has already ordered 10 episodes of the show from writer Greg Poirier ("National Treasure: Book of Secrets") to air sometime in the 2011-12 season. "Missing" will shoot in Europe, which serves the story but will also help the production save money.
Judd's hasn't been on a TV series since she co-starred on NBC's drama "Sisters" in the early '90s.
In other pilot-season news, Jason Isaacs (the "Harry Potter" movies) has taken the lead role in NBC's pilot "REM," Deadline reports. The casting of Isaacs lifts a contingency from the project, which "Lone Star" creator Kyle Killen wrote.
"REM" centers on a cop who finds himself living in parallel realities after an accident. Howard Gordon ("24") has been brought on as showrunner, and Tim Minear ("Firefly," "Angel") is a consulting producer.
In addition to his work on the "Harry Potter" movies, Isaacs starred in Showtime's "Brotherhood," "Green Zone" and "The Patriot."

lol and the movie stars continue to go on tv..the Hollywood economy must be hard..pretty hard..lol
REM sounds interesting. Missing could be good. I sounds similar to The Forgotten, the best missing children drama to get cancelled well before its time since Without A Trace.
