Oh, NBC, did you not learn your lesson from THE BIONIC WOMAN reboot?
Let's leave campy '70s TV in the '70s, shall we? Get Bryan Fuller to develop a new show for you.
Wow all the movie stars try tv now and i mean not as guest-stars on shows they like but as leading cast member..the business must be really hard right now..lol
Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Marty Scorcese, Glen Close, Holly Hunter, Katie Bates, Steve Buscemi, William H Macy, Gabriel Byrne, Laura Linney, Anna Paquin, Jonathan Rhys Meyer, Jeremy Irons and now Bob Deniro and Ethan Hawke ! And i am sure i forget many others..lol ah and James Franco does some soap opera..ok for him it is an "art experience" (don't get me wrong i find his soap adventure kind of cool) lol but still.. Hey studios networks become to beat you guys!! lol
Ha. Business is hard for the aged actors (e.g., Scorcese, Macy, Bates) in a world that caters to fans of Justin Bieber. Business is also also tough for movie stars who I wouldn't even call movie stars (e.g., Hawke).:P
Oh please. not another reboot. no one can fill the shoes of lynda carter. has nbc forgot knight rider? bionic woman?
Enough with the remakes (or reimaging). Bionic Woman, Knight Rider just had you wanting to see the originals.
I am not sure how to feel about this. I am very happy that Wonder Woman is coming back to TV, but it's on NBC :( Nothing ever works out on this network. However, since there is nothing else on the networks schedule, it might last a while even if the ratings are not that high ( like Chuck ).
For Scorcese i don't think so Xianguo; first he is a director so it is pretty different and anyway he is one of the most successful director in Hollywood, since the 70's but still right now..he is the epitome of Director movie superstar so actually i think it is more about the lack of freedom with studios whereas with cable channels like HBO, Showtime ect.. you can do more what you want in term of creativity and make more money as producer.
As for De Niro he is still a really bankable A-list movie star and a legend, he just had a movie this week with Ben Stiller who did quite good at box-office so for him it is also for money and creativity (well actually the premise of his show seems quite boring and not original so i don't know...lol)
But i agree about some aged movie actors who have more opportunity on tv but still it is new..before even with less success they did not go on tv (except as guest-stars like i said)..and that it is imo because the bad shape of the economy also influence Hollywood.
Isn't Kelley an expert on lawyer shows?
Perhaps it will do better than other 70s remakes because the original never really took itself seriously. If the new version spends a lot of time laughing at itself, perhaps it will win a larger audience than the remakes of the more "serious" Bionic Woman, Knight Rider, etc. I'm interested in finding out who they will cast in the lead role. If the showrunners go for a glitzy "name" star only, rather than someone with comedy capability, the show will be doomed from the start.
first comment says it all, Bionic Woman anyone?? lol.
