TV ratings: 'Modern Family,' 'SVU' are the people's choice Wednesday
Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011Ratings for the People's Choice Awards were down compared to last year. ABC's "Modern Family" was the night's most-watched show, and thanks to improved numbers from "Law & Order: SVU," NBC actually won the night. CBS' "Live to Dance" fell a good bit from its premiere Tuesday.
NBC averaged 9.4 million viewers and a 5.9 rating/10 share among households in primetime, getting a rare nightly victory that doesn't involve an NFL game. CBS (8.9 million, 5.7/9) came in second, beating out ABC's 7.4 million viewers and 4.6/8. FOX (6.3 million, 3.8/6) came in fourth, while The CW (941,000, 0.7/1) was a non-factor with a night of reruns.
ABC and NBC tied for the lead among adults 18-49 with a 2.7 rating. CBS came in third with a 2.4. FOX's 1.7 was good for fourth, while The CW came in at 0.3.

Both episodes of SVU were excellent last night. As long as Stabler and Benson are there it will continue to be my favorite crime drama. Glad to see them on top but ofcourse CBS's number were down with the awards show.
Peoples Choice is a big joke. It just shows how little some people have to do with their lives. Guess simply clicking over and over is their thrill for the day. That isn't the type of persons I want choosing my programs for me. Didn't watch. Only read results.
Great seeing Law & Order: SVU's ratings jump up quite a bit last night.
SVU is the best drama on TV!!!
Gr8 nite for ABC!
After DWTS ended, ABC has suffered greatly. I'm sure they are very please with the ENTIRE comedy block. Looks like BWY is a keeper. ABC should create a new comedy block with CT, if replacement Mr Sunshine proves to be a bigger hit.
Looks like BWY is a keeper. ABC should move CT to another night and use it to establish another comedy block.
Good thing Dawn Ostroff is leaving the CW after this season. She's done so much damage to that network it isn't even funny. Too many award shows as well...what's next now, those Golden Globes on Nothing But Crap? ABC still sucks.
Loved that episode of the Middle! The 2 episodes of SVU were very good also.
