TV ratings: 'Live to Dance' has OK start Tuesday; 'V,' ABC returnees soft
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011CBS got decent numbers -- more on the total-viewer side than demographically -- from the premiere of "Live to Dance" on Tuesday, helping the network win the night. ABC, meanwhile, struggled: "V" began its second season up slightly from where it ended its first season, but "No Ordinary Family" and "Detroit 1-8-7" were both off from their previous averages.
"The Biggest Loser," meanwhile, started its winter/spring run ahead of where the fall season began and gave NBC the top spot among adults 18-49 in primetime.
CBS led the overall race Tuesday with 10.2 million viewers and a 6.5 rating/10 share in households. NBC (7.8 million, 4.8/8) came in second, finishing comfortably ahead of ABC (6.2 million, 3.8/6). FOX came in fourth with 4.3 million viewers and a 2.7/4. A night of repeats on The CW drew 925,000 viewers and a 0.6/1.
NBC scored a 2.9 rating in the adults 18-49 demo to lead the pack. CBS, 2.2, was the only other network to finish above 2.0. ABC took third with a 1.7, followed by FOX at 1.5. The CW managed only a 0.3.

I hope the ratings for "V" get better, I want to see a 3rd season!
Getting really tired of these endless talent shows on prime time. At what point have we reached a saturation overload of american talent? It is like "Star Search" on overdrive. Enough already.
I am really growing tired of these talent shows on prime time. At what point are we going to reach saturation overload of watching american semi-talent? It is like "Star Search" on overload. Enough already!
I agree with debsheka. Enough is enough. I would perfer a good movie to some of the junk reality shows. Doesn't anyone have an imagination for some good shows.
It's good to see that both V and No Ordinary Family seem to be holding each others audiences.
M E O W= Fat people doing better than lizards...poor thangs
I think most people were watching football last night. Great game. Go OS!!
I was watching football, but did record Detroit 1-8-7. Would like to see it climb a bit higher as it's a very well done show. By far the best ABC has to offer outside of Castle.
Also, another vote for the demise of the Star Search knockoffs.
V was killer last night! Way to go ABC you're finally showing this show's true colors for what it could be. Great start to a second season we want more!
As the 10 episodes of "V" are already filmed ... I just hope we get a third season at least to have a final season and not have us wondering at the end of this season finale!!!
So please ABC ... give us at least another season even its only 10 episodes again ...
