'Survivor: Redemption Island's' Russell Hantz: 'LeBron James, two-time MVP. Russell Hantz, two-time MVP'

It's official -- Russell Hantz and Rob Mariano are returning to the franchise for "Survivor: Redemption Island." It will be Russell's third time out and Rob's fourth. But in a CBS promo reel, Russell says this is just part of who he is."I"m good at this game. This is what God made me for," says Hantz. "LeBron James, two-time MVP. Russell Hantz, two-time MVP. You know the difference between us? Nothing."
Russell claims that all that matters to him is that America likes the way he plays. But we aren't so sure that's all that matters to him.
"The image I have as the villain, that's fine with me. Because that's how I play the game. The thing is, America, they vote for me every time," says Hantz. "They like the way I play, so that's al that matters to me."
Hantz also assures viewers that he's more geared up for this one than he's ever been. And we believe that, because remember -- he had to play "Heroes vs. Villains" without having watched his first season.
"I'm more ready for this one than I ever have been," says Hantz. "It's going to be history. 'Survivor' history."
And what does Boston Rob have to say about Russell? "I'm gonna kick his a**, I'm gonna make him pay." Host Jeff Probst just thinks "the audience is going to love it."
"Survivor: Redemption Island" premieres Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

This show just lost me as a viewer. I feel that this move and the new redemption island is a "jump the shark" move. I watch to see NEW people react and try to stay in the game with all the social and physical elements. The occasional "fans vs favorites" type show is OK to watch but i have no interest in watching the "Rob vs Russell" show, I like survivor.
*sigh* All Russell talk, no Boston Rob. Would that you had swapped the content percentage. I can't stand Russell, and in fact stopped watching *both* his seasons because he was just such a...worm.
I'll watch this season just for B.Rob, but the target on his back will be huge, so I don't think he'll be around long. Of course, this means that I'll stop watching then, because I can't deal with CBS fawning over Mr. Worm each week.
Unless Colby came back again. Doubt he would, given his last experience, but one never knows. But if Colby's there, I'll be watching.

i am so tired of seeing russell with that fat belly of his and his lieing ways i dont think i am going to watch it this season i always watch the show but i think we all had enough of russell
Russell is the best Survivor every. The LeBron James of the game. Yes that is why he won every game he played - oh wait - he didn't. Sandra did win both games she played so I guess she is the LeBron James and Russel is just self deluded. I however agree brining back Russell and Boston Rob so soon is a mistake. We need new players not the same ones season after season.
I agree that Russell is the LeBron of Survivor. I guess that would make Sandra the Kobe Bryant - the one who actually wins.
Russell/Rob might be a mistake but the new changes are good. People essentially have the game figured out now and we see the same strategy every year (under the radar), so pre-emptively modifying the game to force different kinds of gameplay will have an interesting result.
Hopefully, all the other cast members watched the Survivor seasons that had Russell and vote him of first. The last season that had Boston Rob and Russell caused me to switch from a Boston Rob hater to a Boston Rob lover.
If you don't like it the don't watch. Even though I'm sure you all will. I hope Russell wins this time!
I love the show (and Jeff) too much to not watch. However, I despise everything about Russell so I'll be recording the show so I can FF through everything he says. I'd be happy if I never heard his egotistical, chauvanistic, deluded voice again. I just really hope that they don't focus so much on Rob and Russhole that we don't even get to know the other players. I also hope (and pray) that Russell is the first player voted out so he doesn't ruin an entire season for me again.
