'Survivor: Redemption Island's' Jeff Probst: 'I can feel the energy ... the audience is going to love it'

With the impending return of Rob Mariano and Russell Hantz to "Survivor," host Jeff Probst says that idea stemmed from their confrontation at the "Heroes vs. Villains" finale, where Rob said he'd kick Russell's a** all over the beach."The thing with Rob and Russell is that, for whatever reason, they are now icons on our show," says Probst. "I can feel the energy. I believe the audience is going to love it."
But are people growing weary of Rob and Russell, as this is Rob's fourth time out and Russell's third?
"I don't think anybody is going to be tired of seeing Russell, he's too polarizing. If you hated him the first two times, you have to watch so you can enjoy hating him again," says Probst. "Boston Rob is fascinating because he started as a villain, he was despised by people, and somehow he transformed into a hero."
As for the two fellas, Russell is busy comparing himself to LeBron James and Rob is saying he wants "blood to be shed." We can't wait!
"Survivor: Redemption Island" premieres Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Wrong again Probst ! I'm sick of these two.
Just give Russell the million (he actually has out lasted, out witted and out played afterall) so that he will go away !
Totally agree: sick of re-hashed, fame-obsessed has-beens. Just let regular people on! Won't be watching this time; will wait for Fall 2011.
Love it. Love Boston Rob: Not so much Hantz. My dream - to see Rob win it all and rub the smirk off Russells face.
I would rather see a good survivor season with all new people dealing with the social and physical apects opposed to seeing the "rob and russell" show. I do like rob but have no interest in seeing him again on this show. i always thought that he may make a good host if Jeff ever left the show.

I don't see why people are complaining about Jeff's or the people upstairs decision to put Rob and against Russell. You guys complaining got your horrible seasons this fall, with all newbies that couldn't even begin to compare to ether of the seasons involving Rob or Russell.
So why not allow these two to play again
Just remind yourself that CBS needs ratings. This is one way to get them. They don't care what the people think. Rob and Russ will be kept around a long time in this game. After all it is scripted and somehow they will be immune from tribal council until late in the game.
It's all about ratings. The reason I don't like Survivor is....I think it's scripted and I thought the camera people helped Russell find the hidden idols.
no way its scripted..n its one show that strives to be fair n gv each contestant a fair shot at the million...thats the reason y the quitters were kept in the jury last season.so that anyone who wud hav benefitted them being on the jury wudnt be denied of the million dollar vote
