SAG Awards 2011: Betty White turns her first nomination into a first win for 'Hot in Cleveland'

It took a village to get a stunned Betty White to the SAG Awards stage after she was named the best actress in a comedy series.

Who would've known a year ago when White received the organization's Lifetime Achievement Award that she was just getting started (again). She nabbed her first acting nomination for a comedy series this year and it's now hers for her role in TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland."

She looked stunned to have won and did a couple circles in the audience before someone took her hand and led her to the stage. She must have loved that dashing "Mad Men" star and the award's presenter, Jon Hamm, was there to give her a hand up the stairs.

"I can not believe this," White started her acceptance speech. "And they had to get the old broad up those stairs. That's not easy. I must say that this is the biggest surprise I've ever had in this business. There wasn't a prayer. I'm so lucky at 89. I'm working on the happiest set in TV."

She went on to give props to her cast mates. They were all also nominated for best ensemble cast in a comedy series, but lost to "Modern Family."

Congrats Betty!

Biggest and best surprise of the night.

And MUCH deserved despite Mikey O'Connell's comment in his "Best and Worst" piece that she's not the best actress in a TV comedy.

She may not be the on the best comedy but no one today knows comedy like Betty White.

And she will probably be up there next year for her performance in The Lost Valentine!! It deserves an Emmy, a Sag and a Golden Globe!

Love her! I am so proud of her. I love that show, Hot in Cleveland.

I didn't see her get the award; I was watching her movie on CBS - which was great and for which she should get some sort of nomination NEXT year!

To all those people who feel that they are stuck at their jobs, their relationships, their life, Betty White at 89! proves that your life does not have to be predictable, and it is never to late to shine!
What an inspiration she is,
