'Private Practice': Grant Show and Stephen Collins set to return

Normally, this would be filed under news that makes us very happy, but the circumstances seem to be a bit dire, so we are politely refraining from squealing. For now.

TV Line reports that Grant Show is reprising his role as Archer, Addison's (Kate Walsh) bad boy brother on "Private Practice." Expect to see the former "Melrose Place" star to show up on Feb. 10. Not much as known about his return, other than his presence is "mandatory."

Also appearing in the episode is "No Ordinary Family's" Stephen Collins, who plays "The Captain," Addison's father. Both her father and brother returning in the same episode? We've got a bad, bad feeling.

Show fans don't have to wait until Feb. to get their fix: The actor is set to appear on HBO's "Big Love" season premiere on Jan. 16.
