'One Tree Hill': Hilarie Burton not returning as Peyton

Sorry, Peyton fans - Hilarie Burton has confirmed that she won't be returning to "One Tree Hill" to revive the character for Brooke's wedding or for the season finale (which will likely be the series finale).Burton, who is currently on "White Collar," which shoots in New York, says she doesn't really have room in her life for a trip to North Carolina. "Unfortunately it gets to a point where your personal life doesn't necessarily allow a whole lot of room anymore for just jumping on a plane and going wherever," she said on a press conference call for "White Collar."
In case you didn't know, Burton and boyfriend Jeffrey Dean Morgan (of "Grey's Anatomy" and "Supernatural" fame) welcomed their first child in early 2010.
Burton stresses that there's no bad blood between her and the "One Tree Hill" cast and crew. "I have such a fondness for that period in my life, and I love all the people there," she says. "So while that's a place that I love and it's an experience in my life that I really love, I don't think that it's going to work out, and I still communicate with everybody back there. And I love them as a whole, but no I don't think it's going to work out. I'm sorry."

Who would you like to see return from over the years? We wouldn't mind checking in on Chris Keller (Tyler Hilton), Karen Roe (Moira Kelly), or Coach Whitey (Barry Corbin).

Hope this season's Tree Hill will be its last.
She is the biggest phony to ever walk the earth. Lies and yet more lies are the only thing to come out of her mouth in the last 2 years alone! She doesn't deserve any attention. She should be exposed for the charlatan she really is!

She's lying. There is definitely bad blood there and nobody on OTH actually wants her back because of her dramatics and uppity attitude. It was for the story, specifically Brooke's wedding that Peyton really was wanted back, but Hilarie demanded an exorbitant amount of money to guest alongside a series of other demands. She's no longer on speaking terms with the creator or her co-stars and she spent most of the last year and a half saying whatever nasty thing you could conjure up about her former co-stars. If you read her latest interviews, you'll notice a few subtle digs about not taking not female co-stars for granted, which are most likely digs at Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Galeotti who she did not part with on good terms.
I'm really just sick of her now. She keeps running her mouth and if there's fairness, it will catch up with her.
one tree hill ended for me when she and murray left.
of course, i would watch if the series finale had a scene where brooke got blown to pieces or something, that would be awesome. Ohhh, and Julian.
@Fangirl1980 it was the same for me. i was a HUGE OTH fan until the characters of peyton and lucas left. haven't watched it since.

I think it completely SUCKS she's not coming back. In a way I do try to get it, but it still hard to envision a OTH finale (probably SERIES finale) without her!! I honestly, would mind very, VERY little if CMM happened to show up to the finale or not, in MY eyes, it was because of him why both Lucas+Peyton characters are not in the show anymore "They don't want me back!" drama and all which I've seen, but still...I was one of the sad believers of having them BOTH back for the ending. If HB is not comming back, then I don't see the point of Lucas coming either. He's the bigger a** in my eyes and will always be.
I'm for one, VERY much glad Hilarie Burton is in WhiteCollar and is doing such a great job. Not a week ago I was watching this SophieBush's interview about Brooke's wedding on the show, and how sincere she looked when she was saying how much it sucked Peyton wasn't going to be able to be there. So only taking THAT into account, I wouldn't say HB and current-OTH girls left things in a bad way. I dunno the facts, but I'm just saying the things the way I'm seeing them.
For people who comes here BASHING over someone else's career and saying how much she doesn't deserve attention, What the HE** are you doing here (right after the post came out) when she doesn't "deserve" your attention?? Pretty, PRETTY hypocrite I believe.
All in all, I am so very sad she's not coming back to the series finale. I've been missing her ever since S6 was over, and never lost hope she would be back eventually. There are a few months to May still, so I would not lose hope still. She was an AWESOME part of the show, and it really is a shame she's not there anymore. I'm glad however, she's been doing well for herself, being in WhiteCollar and with her new baby and ofc, JDM!!! ;)
