'Nikita's' Maggie Q: About that Nikita/Ryan Fletcher kiss in 'Free'...
In the preview for "Nikita's" Jan. 27 episode, "Free," we see a few new things: Alex's (Lyndsy Fonseca) new apartment, Alex's new love interest Nathan (Thad Luckinbill) and Nikita (Maggie Q) kissing Ryan Fletcher (Noah Bean). Yeah, that last one through us for a loop.
Naturally, we had to ask (read: bug) Maggie about The Kiss when we caught up with her at The CW's winter television critics association press tour. Funnily enough, she didn't even know the kiss made it into the episode's preview. "How funny," she says with a laugh.
Maggie knows the kiss probably won't make fans of Michael (Shane West) and Nikita's sort of relationship too happy ("I bet!" was her exact reponse to fans' negative reactions), but attempts to clear the air without giving too much away: "What you'll under stand when you see the episode: The context of the kiss, what she puts him through. I like Ryan Fletcher and Nikita's relationship because they're definitely going to work together and I don't know that it's romantic in that she kissed him out of passion."
In the episode description, it says "While interrogating Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford), Nikita stuns Ryan by revealing a secret." We can only guess what kind of secret warrants a kiss as an apology of sorts.
"She puts him through a sh*tload in that episode and at the end he's just so mad at her and so exasperated and the kiss is almost like a promise," she explains. "Like, 'Listen, it's gonna be okay and I'm gonna make it better and I promise you that.' It's more along those lines." The man was set up by his own government as a terrorist. A kiss from a hot chick should be the least of his worries.
Maggie hints that while that kiss might not have romantic intentions, Nikita may have a few possible love interests this season, including Ryan Fletcher. "We are creating question marks for people," she says with a sly smile.
So what was her reaction when she learned Nikita would be kissing Ryan? "I was reading the script and I was like, 'I get to kiss someone! Awesome! Finally!' She's never kissed anyone. It's like the first time. I'm so excited."
Don't miss "Nikita's" all-new episode,"Free," Thursday, Jan. 27, at 9 pm ET on The CW.

Ahhhh dude! Come on!!! WTF is this?!?! I get it that it needs to be a though road for Mikita (Michael & Nikita) to get together... but let's not just get all CW and start throwing meaningless love interest's or stupid *** triangles in there...
Like keep the biggest obstacle between Mikita, being Division! Ugh. i can't stand looking at this dude's fugly face so close to my bb! *bleh*
MIKITA ALWAYSSSS
Oh man some things about this article hurt as a Michael & Nikita fan but I know it's going to a bumpy ride for them....esp after 1x09. Anyway not looking forward to Ryan/Nikita at all no matter how sugercoated it is lol. I just don't think they have much chemistry at all. I did like how she said it's nothing romantic *PHEW*. Also how she even thought they cut it out (aka not that important of a scene lolol) but the teasing will drive me crazy.
GAHH! MIKITA :'( ... Thanks for the article. I really hope there's some Mikita spoilers to come to help after reading this. I need them now lol.
Let's just wait and see how the show pans out before people go nuts over a preview. Remember, the template is there: Nikita and Micheal at the end of the road, but there's a long road ahead first. Remember the idea of a Michael/Alex hook-up was actually planted long before this one. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing a new episode, especially since Nikita appears to be the only new show I like this season that is going to survive to the summer. :(
After reading the article, I don't know if I want to watch the episode coming up this Thursday. Michael and Nikita are the reason I hooked to the show.
The show would lose a large part of the audience if the writers keep adding new love interest for Nikita. Michael and Nikita's relationship is the main apart of this remake show. Stupid writers!!
Can't we have a show with out romantic pairings and crazy shippers?
Not likely, TL. Lolol
But i actually think the Nikita "shipper" fandom, specially the Michael/Nikita side... is pretty under control. So far. Ha.
As far, as this article, specially for those "Mikita" shippers.. i think is actually kind of a good thing. Maggie is pretty much saying that this dude, Fletcher, will be teased with Nikita... but that it won't ever turn into anything serious.
So yeah... I'd say that's a good thing for them. :)
