Mega Python vs. Gatoroid: What'd you think of Debbie Gibson vs. Tiffany?

mega-python-vs-gatoroid-debbie-gibson-tiffany-syfy-320.jpgThere was a time when Debbie Gibson was the squeaky-clean '80s version of today's Miley Cyrus, but young people today know her better for her 2005 Playboy Pictorial. Oops? If there's one way to try to restore an almost-nonexistant public opinion, it's... a bizarre Saturday night science fiction movie. We guess.

On Saturday, Gibson appeared alongside '80s popstar rival Tiffany in TV movie "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid" on SyFy. Gibson was a sexy animal rights activist and Tiffany played a sexy park ranger... yes, they both looked like they were headed for the Halloween party in "Mean Girls."

While the SyFy movies of the week tend to fall into the "so bad it's good" category, this one may just have been bad. The unsubtle nod to the twenty-five-year-old rivalry might have been cute a decade or two ago, but by now it's really, really, really old news.

But hey, we got a catfight out of it, and choice words like, "You crazy, cold blooded, snake-loving bitch!" and... wait for it... "I think... we're alone now."

What'd you think, Zappers? Is a career revival in the cards for these two, or should they go back to quietly collecting royalties?

I thought it was great fun to watch, both Tiffany and Debbie Gibson seemed to have enjoyed the campiness of their roles. Also neat to see Katherine Joosten and A Martinez in supporting roles... not to mention Monkee Micky Dolenz. Highly entertaining!

Loved it. haha it was good ;)

These two performers know they are not Meryl Streep and make fun of themselves. It is a great campy movie. I'd love to see Gibson land a recurring role on a soap opera and sing every once in awhile. Tiffany seems more of a reality tv star.

Scify seems to have hit a new low with this one. Also it looks like Debbie lost weight and Tiffany found it.

I thought it was great campy fun! We had a small gathering to watch it. Everyone thought it was very funny. One of SyFy's better ones. I am ready for a sequel.

It was entertaining enough as SciFi (ooh, sorry, SyFy) features go. I dobut either of these ladies expects a career resurgence out of it, but who cares? It was good for a few laughs.

It was great campy fun!

Sci-Fi would be ashamed. If this is what is to become of SyFy then I'm deleting the channel from my list.
