Jets-Patriots games sets a record for CBS; 'The Cape' adds new villains

jets-patriots-320.jpgSome bite-sized TV news for your Tuesday:

The most-watched program of the season so far didn't air in primetime (mostly, anyway). Preliminary ratings have CBS' broadcast of the New York Jets-New England Patriots NFL playoff game at 43.5 million viewers, which makes it the No. 1 program of 2010-11 and the most-watched divisional-round playoff game of all time. After months of regulatory scrutiny, the FCC is expected to approve Comcast's takeover of NBC Universal soon -- possibly as early as Tuesday afternoon. Justice Department approval is expected around the same time. [The Hollywood Reporter]

"The Cape" has signed a pair of guest stars to play villains in an upcoming episode. Michael Irby ("The Unit") will play a bad guy named Pokerface, while Romeo Miller (the no-longer Lil Romeo) will play an up-and-coming gangster named Lil Z. [TVLine]

Logo has picked up its series "The A-List: New York" for a second season. The cable channel says the show's original cast will return, and viewers will see a few new characters as well. [Logo]

I enjoy all the sports on NBC Universal. Hope it doesn't go away!

A villain named 'Pokerface'? Sounds like a porno title. But I doubt anyone will make fun of that name ... Or should I say, poke fun at it.
