'Jersey Shore's' DJ Pauly D worries about the GTL options in Italy

As MTV announced Tuesday (Jan. 25), it's exporting its hit "Jersey Shore" out of the U.S. where everybody knows their name and dropping them in Italy for Season 4.

And while the U.N. tries to figure out the best way to spin this, cast member DJ Pauly Delvecchio says he's pumped about the trip.

"I've never been to Italy, and it's always been a dream of mine," he tells MTV News. "I'm excited to see my roots. I have family in Italy, but I don't speak with them since I don't know the language. My mother still talks to them, though. [And] I know Vinnie has family there. But none of us have ever been. It's gonna be fun."

That doesn't mean Pauly doesn't have some reservations on the trip. After all, you can't be a guido unless you GTL ("gym, tan, laundry" for the Italians who are reading this).

"I'm nervous, I'm not gonna lie," he says. "I don't know what gyms are like over there, I don't know what tanning's like, I don't know the food, and the language -- I don't even speak Italian. Maybe I should get a Rosetta Stone or something."

But when it comes to Italian women, Pauly hopes his looks do all the talking.

"And they got some nice clubs out there, and the women ... they're real Italian women, you know?" he says. "Since I don't speak the language, I don't know how I'm going to talk with them. I'm hoping the smile does the trick. The less words the better. I'm looking forward to the challenge."

The crew starts shooting Season 4 in the spring.
