Dr. Drew Pinsky calls MTV's '16 and Pregnant' abortion special 'very uncomfortable'
Dr. Drew Pinsky (of "Celebrity Rehab" and "Loveline" fame) says that he wants his career to push him into uncomfortable situations -- so it's safe to say his recent moderation of MTV's "No Easy Decision" was on point.
Pinsky opened up about the controversial abortion special at the Television Critics Association's Winter Press Tour while promoting his new HLN talk show.
"That made me very uncomfortable for many reasons," says Pinsky, "but I felt the conversation was worth having."
In addition to the fact that he had to keep his opinions to himself -- something he admits he's not used to -- Pinsky was worried how it might be edited. "We filmed for two or three hours," he says, "I may not like how the story goes."
He seems pleased with the outcome though, possibly due in part to the fact that the discussion he moderated didn't elicit too many surprises for him.
"I'm like a prosecuting attorney," says Pinsky. "I know what the answers are before I ask the question."

Zap2it Elite Sheet Must Reads from the Web's In-Crowd

I stopped watching all things Dr. Drew and that hasn;t been easy for me considering I enjoyed a Celeb. Rehab episode every now and again and the Teen Preg as well. After this reunion episode of teen moms and talking about abortion, I could no longer support Dr. Drew as a viewer. He had crossed my moral line with God. Uncomfortable or not, I think abortion is real and has to be discussed, but the way it was "edited" made it seems as if these ladies know who they will be when they hit 30, 45, 50 and 70. It was unjust and unfair to have twenty somethings on who were "sticking" by their decisions they made in the last five to ten years at most. What I am saying is that a woman goes thru a lot of changes in life about abortion. None of these ladies will know how they will feel in another 10 or 20 years even if they continue to supress the emotions and reality of commiting the ultimate sin - murder. When the one gal said that she didn't choose birth because she didn't want to share her child with anyone else. That was appauling and no one reacted to it! Thats like some crazed lover saying "if I can't have you no body can" as he/she puts a gun to your head and takes you from this life. Who in their right mind lets a comment like that sit well with them? Others actually nodded their heads. Are you serious? No one took responsibility for having been careless in the first place with their bodies. The mere fact that the show excluded tips and the importance of abstinence, venereal disease and more simply floored me. I realize that those of us who took the route of considering waiting until marriage are considered unrealistic, even if we did it ourselves and are not gay. They made it seem like 100% of teens are having sex. Venereal diseases aren't even an issue in this world of pregnancy, not to mention what you pass on to the baby and abstinence is not the ultimate form of birth control woth 100% success rate. Girls spreading their legs at 13, 14, 15 like grown women with the emotional maturity of children and the mental capacity of a grade schooler (in most of the cases) is heartbreaking. This generation will be our future CEO's, presidents, Judges, senators, teachers, police commissioners and more in America. Just like my geneeration is currently in these positions and disappointing the you know what out of the generations before us. You can see Drew has likely drifted to the Hollywood side of Judaism which is practically non-existent in comparison to the Israeli Jew. (Im taking a big guess here on his race/religion and his thoughts about it because I really dont know). No man of God or Jesus would have permitted a show like this to air with the obvious message of "that's ok that you killed your baby, don't you worry your little soul about the ton of guilt you'll feel before you reach 50 or 60 and really come to know what life's all about." He was also saying look we are here to promote abortion too after all its the "Family Planning (AKA: Destruction) thats funding this show and signing my paycheck indirectly." Has every Hollywood Jew sold out to money and fame, even the nice guys like Drew? Its ok to say no to the managers, producer and agents, lose your Hollywood reputation and job but hold onto the most important job any of us have in serving God first and trusting in Him to provide a way for us when we refuse to compromise His principles. I care about my reputation with God more than any elitist group on this planet even when money is on the line. Its not easy, but I've been able to to do it so far and I wasn't always like this.
I pray for Drew Pinksy to seek out his roots in faith. How can you be a descendent of God's DIRECT chosen ones and continue to stick your finger in God's eye? Its frustrating to watch it all unfold as we continue to allow our 3 dimensional world we can see and have proof of to supercede the spiritual world we can't see and can't prove. Its just something you know deep down inside through the Holy Spirit. If my assumptions about Drew are wrong then forgive me. Intervene please Lord in this ugly world where people have justified murder for not wanting to be inconvenienced in our lives or our future. None of us are perfect but once you make a mistake or commit a sin then at least own it for what it is and quit with the rationalization. We are alll starting to sound as ignorant and self absorbed as the terrorist that attacked us on 911 and try to justify it. The only difference is at least they THINK they are doing it for God. We don't even list such a false reason. We are willing to admit we did it for ourselves (oh yeah and the baby thats killed) and we are doing it one baby at a time as opposed to taking out a couple thousand people in a single shot.
Terrorists at least admit they are terrorists.
Who is really going to read that novel you posted?
And by the way - you saying that abortion is the ultimate sin - is your OPINION. It is not a universally accepted truth.
Your comments about "Hollywood Jews" show your real colors, Ormond. I'm so grateful not everyone is as narrow minded and judgmental as you are!
