'Chuck' recruits Lauren Cohan and Robin Givens, Lauren Ambrose joining 'Torchwood'

cohan-chuck.jpgGood news, "Vampire Diaries" fans who aren't so fond of vampire Rose: Lauren Cohan (also known for her stint on "Supernatural") is heading to "Chuck" in a major recurring role. She'll be playing Vivian, a sophisticated socialite who is currently studying at Oxford and is the daughter of a criminal mastermind. Robin Givens is also set to appear on the NBC show as a powerful agency bigwig who makes an intriguing offer to Casey. Look for both characters to show up in March. [TV Line]

"Six Feet Under's" Lauren Ambrose
is joining the global edition of Starz's "Torchwood" as Jill Kitzinger, "a sweet-talking PR genius with a heart of stone who's just cornered the most important client of her career...and maybe of all time." Ambrose is set to appear in seven of the 10 episodes and will make her first appearance when the show returns in July. [Entertainment Weekly]

"Damages"
will have a new villain in Season 4: John Goodman. He'll be playing the CEO of a military contractor who is put on trial in a wrongful death suit. Executive producer Todd Kessler says, "John Goodman's phenomenal body of work speaks for itself. It's a real thrill to be adding an actor of John's extensive rane and talent to the cast. We can't wait to pit him against Glenn Close and Rose Byrne." [TV Guide]

The CW's "Supernatural" has been added to the list of show's being honors at Paleyfest, with the full lineup coming on Jan. 19. Already on the list are "American Idol," "True Blood," "The Walking Dead" and "Freaks & Greeks/ "Undeclared." [Paleyfest]

"Jersey Shore" set yet another ratings record Thursday night with its second episode of Season 3. The show scored 8.6 million viewers and a 4.4 rating among adults 18-49. The latter figure beat everything on broadcast TV for the night. [MTV]

"Saturday Night Live" has booked the hosts and musical guests for its next two live shows. "The Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg and Nicki Minaj will be on Jan. 29, and former cast member Dana Carvey and Linkin Park will be there on Feb. 5. [NBC]

I'm so thrilled that DAMAGES is continuing, and hearing the news about John Goodman just makes it that much more exciting. The producers of that show have really done some fine casting with all the comedic actors they've used so well.

YES YES YES WHOOOOOO ROSE IS GONE:). All rejoice everything is right in world as the worlds lamest, pathetic and wimpish vamp is no more. LOL

P.S Damon and Elena forever:)

Why is Lauren Cohan (Rose) leaving Vampire Diaries a good thing? I like Rose and have enjoyed the fact that the she actually likes Damon for himself. After all, as a Damon fan, I appreciate the fact she pushed Damon out of the way of the werewolf attack.
I am sad she is leaving.
