Cable ratings: 'Hannah Montana' finale, 'Piers Morgan' premiere and more

Some ratings highlights from around the cablesphere, including Miley Cyrus' Disney Channel farewell and the premiere of a controversial new series on MTV:- The series finale of "Hannah Montana Forever" scored strong numbers for Disney on Sunday evening (Jan. 16), drawing 6.2 million viewers and hitting the channel's tween sweet spot in a big way (topping everything else on cable in the time period by good-sized margins). The final season of the show averaged 5.65 million viewers, its best season-long number ever.
- A decidedly less warm-and-fuzzy show about teenagers, "Skins," debuted to a little under 3.3 million viewers on MTV Monday. The remake of the British show -- which attracted a good deal of pre-premiere controversy -- also delivered 2.7 million viewers in the channel's core demographic of teens and adults under 35. MTV says it was the best series launch in that demo in network history.
- CNN got a fairly solid debut from "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Monday. Morgan's interview with Oprah Winfrey averaged 2.1 million viewers, a huge improvement over CNN's fourth-quarter average (657,000) and competitive with Fox News Channel's "Hannity," which drew a little under 2.4 million viewers with guest Sarah Palin.
- Also Monday, the debut of Syfy's remake of "Being Human" drew 2 million viewers for its premiere broadcast and 1.8 million more with a pair of replays later in the night. It also attracted a healthy number of female viewers: About 58 percent of the premiere's adults 18-49 audience was women, the highest concentration of females ever for a Syfy series telecast.

I like Hannah Montana as an actor but as a singer she is ok.
