Bravo's 'Platinum Hit': 'Ex-Idol' judge Kara Dioguardi vs. the prying reporters

The very nature of the Winter TV Press Tour is that it's a small community of television critics and writers, who report from cities all over America. They don't often have a chance to actually physically interact with talent, so this is their chance to ask their questions live.
So, this crew doesn't take very kindly when talent refuses to answer their questions and disturbs that delicate balance.
Enter former "American Idol" judge Kara Dioguardi who was there to promote her new songwriting competition, "Platinum Hit," airing on Bravo in the summer. But of course, the "Idol" questions were inevitable.
So, when one reporter had the bravery to ask about the details surrounding Dioguardi's departure from "Idol," the songwriter replies, "You know what, I am happy to address that with you privately. But today, I'm really here for 'Platinum Hit' and to celebrate that."
Cue the boos. Yes, some reporters booed Dioguardi for refusing to answer the question. Then, the reporter said to her, "You're here because of that show."
Ruh roh. Apparently no one tells Dioguardi that "Idol" made her.
"You know what, I have to answer that," she says. "It was an incredible experience. It really was. But I'm here as a hit songwriter, and I've sold over 150-million albums. And that's why I love this show, because it enables me to help young songwriters who -- that is my passion in life -- be able to reach the market and have success."
We're sure other reporters abandoned their "Idol" questions after that.
Should Dioguardi should have just talked about her "Idol" experience? After all, some of these reporters have come a long way. Don't they deserve to get their questions answered?

hahahaha love Kara....
Just because reporters travelled a long way doesn't mean Kara is obligated to answer their questions. This was not a Kara DioGuardi press conference, she was there to promote Platinum Hit, period.
She was there to talk about her new show. She isn't obligated to answer any questions about Idol. The reporter should have asked those questions months ago
She's really way too full of herself. Sure, she's written songs but she was terrible on Idol and with behaviour like this, it's no wonder she was so badly received and currently not missed at all. She should take a few leaves out of Paula's book on how to handle press gracefully, even when the questions are unpleasant.
And how is she even promoting Platinum Hit by making herself look like a sour loser?
girl needs to lay down the botox
How do I get to compete in her new show? Can somebody help?
In truth, I'd never heard of Kara Dioguardi until her stint on "Idol." But, that was my problem. She had the chops for the show, and she demonstrated them. I give her credit for not allowing the press tour for her new show to digress into "Idol" rehash. And, she did tell the reporter she would answer "Idol" questions privately. Works for me.
Kara IS missed! She was my favorite judge. Her feedback was the most realistic and constructive out of any of the judges on idol thus far.
As for the interview, each person had their own agenda. Kara stuck to her intended purpose, the reason why the reporters were allowed to be present in the first place. She wasn't even rude about it, and yet she was booed? Who was the rude one?
Please please let me know how to sign up for the show. I have been writing songs since I was ten. This is a dream come true.....Please contact me!!!!
Kara Was writing some of the most popular and amazing songs before American Idol. That show did not "Make" her. I'm glad she chose not to answer obnoxious questions about the past. Very progressive.
