'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome': U.K. 'Skins' star Luke Pasqualino is young Adama
Syfy has found the actor to play a young William Adama in its upcoming movie/back-door pilot "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome."He is Luke Pasqualino, a British actor who starred in the U.K. version of "Skins" for two seasons, EW reports. The show has also cast Ben Cotton ("Hellcats," "Harper's Island") as Adama's commanding officer.
"Blood & Chrome" is set in the 10th year of the first Cylon war, between the events of "Caprica" and those of "Battlestar Galactica"; Adama is a young fighter pilot who's just been assigned to Galactica, the newest battlestar in the fleet. His commander is Coker (Cotton), who's nearing the end of his tour of duty and doesn't take too well to his new recruit at first.
Cotton, incidentally, guest-starred on a couple episodes of "Caprica" last fall, but he played a different character.
"Blood & Chrome" will also have a central female character; that role has yet to be cast. The two-hour movie will likely air late this year or in early 2012.
What do you think of the casting? Does Pasqualino do it for you as the future admiral?

Why are they ruining the legacy of such a great series as Battlestar Galactica with all this prequel crap. It's a major fail.
no,this is a good move,it just keeps the legacy going.
I think this could be great. And as far as the question of: Why are they doing prequels? Well with the way BSG ended it would be pretty difficult to go forward with that storyline (and if they did it would probably be disastrous), so that leaves the writers with the options of creating an alternate storyline (this has all happened before and it will all happen again) or telling more of the story beforehand.
Personally, I just fell in love with Moore’s reimagining of the series all over again. The first time I saw it was on my old standard definition TV. I really shouldn’t have waited so long—being a customer and employee of DISH Network—I know that DISH has more HD channels than any other provider, I should have started taking advantage of that earlier. But with the price of high definition TV’s getting so reasonable and DISH offering HD free for life for qualifying customers with any of their America’s Top packages, I just couldn’t put it off any longer.
I’m glad I did it too, the added clarity and vivid picture has made me enjoy my favorite shows so much more. I would definitely recommend making the switch to anyone who may be on the fence.
