'American Idol': Jacee Badeaux, 15-year-old wonder on 'Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay'

GoogleWe had already surmised that this might be the Year of the Young on "American Idol" and that was before we saw 15-year-old Jacee Badeaux from Lafayette, La. Check out the video of his wonderful version of "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay."
What we marvel at is that clearly he's unpolished, he's young and his voice hasn't changed yet. And he's still as good as he is. Imagine how great he'll be when he gets a little older.
Did you like his audition? He sounds a little like Justin Bieber to us. Think he'll make it to the tween voting and capture the young girls' hearts?

Not trying to be rude, but no he won't capture the young girls hearts across the country in the way Justin Bieber has. Why? Because people can't look past the package. This boy isn't good looking, has a weight problem and doesn't have that "look" of a star.... looks too every day and average.
I doubt he will make it past the Hollywood round. And he won't win "American Idol" if he somehow does advance again. His singing isn't that good, it's average. Nice of them to give him a boost in self-confidence though by advancing him this one time.
My guess is Simon would've said something similar to what I just have. A dose of reality.
That's the problem with most people in this country,they can't look past the package. They have this neat little box everything and everyone suppose to fit in according to what there expectations are. As you will find as you grow older and wiser that your the one in the little box and you missed out on many good things in life because of shortsightedness.
P.S. I mean can you really picture this boy doing a concert? Packing in 20,000 people in arenas across the country?
I can't. So if I were on the judging panel I'd have given him a "No". So not so sure about my earlier comment that it was nice they gave him a little ego boost by letting him go to Hollywood. Would've maybe been kinder to give him the "no" now rather than give him false hope.
Wow he's awesome!!! I wish I could sing like that... It's clear that this kid has some natural talents, i hope he makes it far!

Um Mr. Anderson. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND! This boy has more talent in his baby toe than you have in your entire body. He is a genuine person and has an extraordinary talent. You have no talent at all, so get off of the computer and make something out of your life :)
Did anyone forget how big Ruben Studdard was when he auditioned for Idol? This is a singing competition, not a beauty pageant. There's a reason why Ruben won and "Bikini Girl" didn't.
Hey this is just baby fat, and this kid could give Justin a run. Only problem with these young boys, sometimes their voices change. But also think he has a chance. Maybe AI (should limit the age this year to 15-16 and just be done with it.

yeah the only reason Ruben won is because the votes were fixed by idol just like every time before. Obviously a 400 pound black guy is going to be seen as more marketable than a skinny nerdy seemingly gay white guy. Do you think that no talent snooze that won last season REALLY beat Adam Lambert?
Give this kid a shot. he might be big but he is pretty cute and he can sing. I've never seen the appeal of that buck toothed canadian wigger Justin Bebier but apparently he appeals to someone. This kid might too.
To all the people who posted negative comments: If you can put this kid down in anyway, you really are a thoroughly mean person. I personally think he can sing, but even if you think he can't, why do you have to put down his appearance? Do you really think that you being rude on this website is going to change the outcome of the competition? If he ever reads this, the only thing you accomplished with this is hurting one of the nicest young boys tv has seen in a really long time.
