TV ratings: CBS wins quiet Wednesday, 'Law & Order' shows rise

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010A rerun-heavy night on the broadcast networks Wednesday didn't really change the usual order of things -- which meant that CBS led the night. NBC's "Law & Order" duo, however, did get a bit of a bump airing original episodes against lighter competition.
Thanks mostly to a new "Survivor: Nicaragua," CBS led the night with 8.8 million viewers and a 5.5 rating/9 share in households. NBC (7.1 million, 5.2/8) came in second in primetime, beating out FOX (5.8 million, 3.6/6). ABC's 5.1 million viewers and 3.4/5 were good for fourth. The CW (2.7 million, 1.8/3) got season highs from the "America's Next Top Model" finale but still finished fifth.
CBS also won the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.5 rating. FOX scored a 2.1 in the demo to take second, edging NBC's 2.0. ABC averaged 1.5 and The CW 1.2.

We go from high numbers on tuesdays show to annemic numbers for wed., what a difference a day makes?
Last night's LOLA was the best episode ever in its rookie season but I'm still sad that Undercovers is walking off into the sunset after NBC cancel this spy dramedy, it was one of my faves to watch.

I love "Human Target". I wish more people were watching the series, but third place is better than last place, so it still goes into the win column.
I'm sort of surprised that "Survivor" is still so popular.

THE WHOLE TRUTH was fantastic last night. I love law shows and this is a good one. Hope ABC airs the remaining 6 eps in the can. What a shame more viewers didn't sample this show. My past law show faves were LA LAW, THE PRACTICE and BOSTON LEGAL. But it looks like Law shows are fading. The most popular ones (L&O shows) barely make the top 40 !
Good for you SVU! Also, I've recently have gotten hooked on "The Middle". It's quite a funny show.
Even though it wasn't against the usual competition it was great to see Law & Order: SVU and Los Angeles get a ratings boost.
