TV Ratings: CBS reruns rule Wednesday

Crime pays for CBS, even if it's just in repeats. The Eye Network drew the most viewers on Wednesday night with its lineup of crime procedurals on a night with very little original programming except for NBC's "Undercovers."

CBS averaged 7.6 million viewers and drew a 4.7 rating/8 share for the night. NBC was next with 5.3 million and 3.4/6 followed closely by ABC's 5.1 million and 3.2/5. Next came FOX's 3.9 million and 2.4/4 with The CW trailing with 1.4 million and 0.8/1.

ABC just snatched the demo title, however, with a 1.7 among adults 18-49, just ahead of CBS' 1.6. NBC had a 1.2, FOX, 0.9, and The CW, 0.5.

Wednesday hour by hour:

8 p.m.

CBS: "NCIS: Los Angeles" rerun (6.9 million viewers, 4.4/8)
ABC: "The Middle" rerun (6.4 million, 3.9/7)/"Better With You" rerun (5.2 million, 3.3/6)
NBC: "Undercovers" (4.5 million, 2.8/5)
FOX: "Human Target" rerun (3.9 million, 2.5/4)
The CW: "Hellcats" rerun (1.5 million, 0.9/2)

18-49 leader: "The Middle" (1.7)

9 p.m.

CBS: "Criminal Minds" rerun (9.3 million, 5.7/10)
ABC: "Modern Family" back-to-back reruns (6.1 million, 3.7/6)
NBC: "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" rerun (4.5 million, 3.0/5)
FOX: "Human Target" rerun (3.8 million, 2.3/4)
The CW: "Hellcats" rerun (1.2 million, 0.8/1)

18-49 leader: "Modern Family" second rerun (2.2)

10 p.m.

NBC:"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" rerun (6.8 million, 4.4/8)
CBS:  "The Defenders" rerun (6.5 million, 4.2/7)
ABC: "Cougar Town" back-to-back reruns (3.3 million, 2.1/4)

18-49 leader: "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.6)
