'The Sing-Off': Committed takes the title
They started off as favorites, and they backed it up throughout the competition: Committed is your 2010 "Sing-Off" champion. The six-man group from Alabama beat out Street Corner Symphony for the title on Monday's (Dec. 20) finale. If there wasn't a ton of suspense in the announcement of the winner, the show made up for it with a pretty entertaining finale that put the emphasis on the performers and not the elimination process.
All four finalists got to sing with the judges and other artists during the two-hour finale. Committed performed "Motownphilly" with Shawn Stockman and the rest of Boyz II Men; the Backbeats sang "King of Anything" with Sara Bareilles; Nicole Scherzinger joined Jerry Lawson and Talk of the Town for "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"; and Ben Folds did his song "Gone" with Street Corner Symphony.
The two finalists also backed up Neil Diamond on a performance of "Ain't No Sunshine," while the Backbeats and Talk of the Town performed with Sheryl Crow (who cheated a little and brought her guitar) on "Long Road Home."
Jerry Lawson and Talk of the Town were eliminated first in the finale, followed shortly after by the Backbeats -- which meant that the two favorites faced off for the title.
For their final performance, Committed sang the Michael Jackson/Akon tune "Hold My Hand," and Street Corner Symphony did Coldplay's "Fix You."
In addition to their title, Committed gets $100,000 in cash and a recording contract with Sony Music.

Wow! What an enjoyable show, not just the finale, but the series. No tortured non-singers or snarky judges. Nice to spotlight singers who don't need to carry a portable auto-tuner. Thanks to NBC for this show...only one small gripe..different host next time please.
The top two were my two faves, and it was so good to see them finish well. Hurray for Committed!
It was a very good show all around. Neil Diamond still rocks! I'm happy with the result. I voted for Committed to win it all.
i thought this was a very well done show, yes even the host was good. i loved committed's sound, and the runners up, hope they go places too. ptl.
