'Skating with the Stars': Is Brandon Smith out of the competition?
If Brandon Smith leaves "Skating With the Stars" and no one cares, did it really happen? We jest, we jest "SWTS" fans. Smith is actually one of our favorites to win so we hope he'll be returning to the ice. TMZ reports that the show's token Disney star is pulling from the competition for the rest of the season due to the illness that forced him to miss last week's show.
However, when Zap2it reached out for confirmation ... there was none, only an incentive to tune in tonight (Dec. 13). Here's the official statement from the "Skating" production: "Brandon Mychal Smith will he appearing on tonight's 'Skating with the Stars' on ABC. He will update viewers on his health and whether he will be able to finish the competition." Well played, ABC. Well played.
Sources say the "Sonny With a Chance" star is awaiting test results, but is weak and barely able to stand. Last week, Smith was taken to the hospital from set after he started throwing up. At the time, the show's rep said it was food poisoning.

Brandon Smith is better off with a gig on Glee than this. I just can't get into this show -it's kind of boring and it takes a lot of time and skill to get good on skates. I wish they wouldn't trivalize the sport due to its association with Dancing with the Stars.
Whether this is true or not Skating with the stars is a very dangerous show and I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to do this,....OH wait they did not last week you had 3 injuries and one illness once this show ends next week it should never be renewed,....
