Judd Apatow says 'Freaks and Geeks' live reunion is in the works

freaks-and-geeks-reunion.jpgThough the Paley Center for the Media doesn't officially announce programming for its 2011 PaleyFest until later in December, Judd Apatow says that a reunion of his short-lived "Freaks and Geeks" will likely be on deck.

In response to a question about a possible reunion on Twitter, Apatow replies "In march a live reunion during paley tv festival is coming together. Ten years."

The director and screenwriter served as co-executive producer of the 1999-2000 series, which in addition to quickly entering the canon of "brilliant but canceled" television, spawned the careers of a small army of famous actors.

James Franco ("127 Hours"/everything), Seth Rogen ("The Green Hornet"), Jason Segel ("How I Met Your Mother"), Busy Phillips ("Cougar Town"), John Francis Daley ("Bones") and Linda Cardellini ("ER") all got their start on "Freaks and Geeks."

Since details on the event are still limited to the tweet in question, there's no word on which cast members will make it to the reunion. But given the rapport Apatow has with the with the ensemble, and his habit to still cast many of them in his films, you can probably bet on a big turn out.
