'Hell's Kitchen': Nona Sivley beats Russell Kook to win Season 8

hells-kitchen-nona.pngThe Season 8 winner of "Hell's Kitchen" has been announced. Congratulations to Atlanta's Nona Sivley, whose low-drama, focused approach to the show's high-pressure challenges has officially landed her the coveted gig as LA Market's head chef, which comes with a $250,000 salary. Sweet.

After a helicopter tour of L.A., the finalists landed at the J. W. Marriott, where they found their first challenge: to prepare 5 dishes in one hour. Russell Kook won this round, but Nona was determined not to concede too early. Later, they divided their eliminated cast mates into teams to perform an elaborate dinner service in Hell's Kitchen. They had to not only prepare menus, but also manage their often difficult teammates and keep an eye on every dish being served.

FOX calls this season's "Hell's Kitchen" the "most combative season yet," and they're not wrong - but the fact that Nona managed to avoid most of the drama is what helped her prevail. Russell's exit interview showed his true colors as he blamed his team for his struggles in the kitchen, despite Gordon Ramsay giving him props for a job well done... just not as well done.

What do you think, Zappers? Did Nona deserve the win or should it have gone to Russell?

Russell was a poor sport. Instead of being "pissed" he should have congratulated Nona and been happy with how far he got. I'm sure he'll fair well, even if he didn't win, which he did not deserve anyhow.

I was cheering for Nona from the beginning. I thought she perfomred well the entire season and earned that win hands down.

Goodbye Russell. I wouldn't hire the guy as a line cook. They're completely ignorant if they don't believe that Ramsay consults with the producers. He knows everything Russell said and did in the house. He knows how Russell tried to sabatoge other members of his team. He sees the footage, and that alone would make Ramsay sure enough to not offer Russell the job.

Yay Nona. I wanted her to win so bad.

i kinda wanted jillian to be in the final at least. russel dont have the attitude to run a kitchen.

Go Nona!
She totally deserved this win tonight!
Russell should be peeling shrimp at Red Lobster or mopping the floors at a peep show. He was a pompous, arrogant twit who got what he deserved.

Man these guys sucks, the entertainment value went down when Boris and Raj got eliminated, they cant be serious about giving the la market job to any of these Yaahoos nutjob no talent wierdos...

As far as I'm concerned Nona was the rightful winner. She maintained her cool, kept a low profile by not becoming embroiled in fights. She did her job without throwing tantrums. I though Russ was a bigger man than that. Nothing worse than a "poor sport"

Congrats to Nona!!

Nona-job WELL done!! I was cheering you on all season. Russell, you are a PIG!! Soo funny when you lost- what a no-talent cry-baby you are. You aren't fit to wipe Nona's boots. You puffed up your fat chest, lied, bullied, and strutted your arragont behind all over the kitchen, and still didn't win. Go home, little man, and return to Taco Bell, where you can fry up some tortillas!!! LOSER!!!

Honestly I don't have any idea why Nona won. Russell showed strong leadership, an unmatched work ethic and most importantly better food. Many would criticize chef Ramseys approach to management in the kitchen if it was not extremely successful. I think Russell mirrored that quality and should have won. During service when Boris was messing up the fish Nona sat by and let it happen without a shred of leadership that would be needed to run a multiple million dollar restaurant like LA market. Russel switched chirstina from her station and made a necessary change when the same situation occured on his side of the kitchen. I couldn't be more confused with Ramseys decision.

Good! Nona deserved to win out of her and Russel. He is just to full of himself. I kind of wanted Jillian to win or at least be in the top. she did good throughout the whole show, but apparently not good enough. All well.
