'Glee,' 'Mad Men,' 'Modern Family' only holdovers on AFI's Top TV of 2010
Each year the American Film Institute honors the "most outstanding achievements in film and television." On Sunday (Dec. 12), the AFI released its Top 10 Films and Top 10 TV Programs of 2010. Here are their picks for TV (in alphabetical order because the American Film Institute does not rank the programs):
"The Big C"
"Boardwalk Empire"
"Breaking Bad"
"Glee"
"Mad Men"
"Modern Family"
"The Pacific"
"Temple Grandin"
"30 Rock"
"The Walking Dead"
The only holdovers from last year's list are "Glee," "Mad Men" and "Modern Family." It's a big year for new programming, as half the list are freshmen or one-off shows. "30 Rock" and "Breaking Bad" have made the list previously, but were not on the list a year ago.
It was also a big year for AMC on the AFI list. "Rubicon" was the channel's only original program not included. ANd as far as premium channels go, HBO kicked Showtime's butt by a score of three shows to one.
A luncheon for the honorees will be held in Los Angeles on Friday, Jan 14, 2011.

Booooo, Community should of been on there.
What were the movie's on the list ?
Rubicon should have been on the list!
How could they pick something like glee over Dexter? Just doesn't make any sense to me.
No Sons of Anarchy or Dexter?
Who chose this list, Jennifer Aniston?
When the best show on TV (DEXTER) isn't on the list, you know the list is worthless.
"BONES" and "How I Met Your Mother" are ignored again. It'll be the same when the "EMMYS" come around again.
I agree with Boardwalk Empire, but sheesh ... it's a travesty that Starz's excellent epic The Pillars of the Earth isn't on here!
No "Community"? I declare this list lame. Lame!
