Eliza Dushku drops out of TNT pilot 'Bird Dog'

After less than a week on board as the star of TNT's "Bird Dog" pilot, Eliza Dushku is officially out.

The actress told fans directly, via Twitter, on Dec. 6: "Hey guys! News to report~ We have mutually & AMICABLY decided to part ways on "Bird Dog" due to creative differences. No worries/fears/tears."

Well, it's nice to know that neither party is crying in their coffee over this one, but you have to wonder how spectacularly big those differences had to be for Dushku to drop out so soon.

As we previously reported, "Bird Dog" follows a woman (who Dushku was originally cast to play) who becomes a police officer, only to be partnered with her estranged father.

Any thoughts on who you'd like to step into Dushku's shoes -- or did your interest begin and end with her involvement?

:( I want to see Dushku back on tv

Angie Harmon--Sounds like a good fit

Anyone surprised by this? She's already had two failed series and this would have been the third, so she and TNT parted ways before they started production on this. Just a horrible actress!

Horrible actress? Have you seen her in anything? In Dollhouse she played multiple roles flawlessly and in Buffy she was amazing.

I was totally gonna give it a shot for Dushku...Big loss for TNT in my book.

Would have been a great show with Eliza...the two other best to play this part are already committed to shows...Angie Harmon in Rizzoli & Isles and Sarah Shahi with Fairly Legal.

I want this girl back on the telly myself. I treasure her and her past roles despite their misgiven commercial failures. "Bird Dog" didn't have a great enough premise, although she would have of course excelled as a tough chick cop.

How about Mira Sorvino and Paul Sorvino?

ED was very good on Buffy as the badass. She was solid in that cheerleading movie where she played...a badass. When she was playing, you guessed it, a badass on Dollhouse, she was quite good. The girl has NO range whatsoever. I like the girl and I like her acting when it has some edge but when she tries to do anything else, she's not very good.

Glad she isn't going to be in it, because I like her but wouldn't watch the show because I refuse to watch another cop show.
