'Brothers & Sisters' spoilers: Tommy's coming, but who's going?

In case you're feeling symptoms of withdrawal from the soapy travails of "Brothers & Sisters," you only have to white knuckle it a few more days. The first new episode of 2011 premieres Sunday, Jan. 2 on ABC. If that's still no consolation, we've been digging a bit for you.
Here's a look at some of the comings and possible goings in the new year:
Nora: In Sunday's (Jan. 2) episode, Nora (played by Sally Field) turns into the green-eyed-monster as she sees just how popular her current beau, Dr. Karl (John Terry), is with his female fans. She'll reveal something at (surprise!) a family dinner that scandalizes everyone. Will she ruin the most viable relationship she has had in years? We're not sure, but we know Dr. Karl becomes scarce for a few episodes.

Holly: The memories are flooding back, but they might be too much for Holly (Patricia Wettig) to handle. She may want a timeout from the Walkers when she considers leaving California. In the Jan. 9 episode, she'll probably make up her mind when she and Nora have a startling revelation.
Kitty: Kitty (Calista Flockhart) continues her torrid affair with her boss' son, Seth (Ryan Devlin). But just as things are starting to get serious, gossip bloggers find out about the romance. The tables turn, though, when Seth's mom ("Heroes" star Cristine Rose) has an interesting reaction to the news. Nevertheless, the relationship will get deeper for several more episodes.

Kevin: Kevin's (Matthew Rhys) marriage may have fallen on hard times after Scotty's (Luke Macfarlane) affair, but things are looking better. In fact, they're moving forward on becoming foster parents. And we'll be meeting the first candidate soon. Olivia (played by tween Isabella Rae Thomas) will make her first appearance in the Jan. 2 episode and she's sticking around for a bit.
Tommy: Tommy (Balthazar Getty) comes down for a visit and brings along his new girlfriend. Cara Buono ("Mad Men's" Faye) guest stars as Rose, who rubs the Walkers the wrong way when she tries to talk about the family's history.

Justin: Things are getting serious between Justin (Dave Annable) and Annie (played by Annable's real life wife, "Cloverfield's" Odette Yustman), especially after an emergency situation bonds them. But in the Jan. 9 episode, Annie's handsome ex, Dr. Rick (Robert Kazinsky of BBC's "EastEnders"), pays a visit. Will Justin be able to contain his jealousy?
Saul: After watching Saul (Ron Rifkin) complain about his love life for a couple seasons, he's about to have his hands full of silver foxes. First, he'll find some forgiveness for Jonathon ("The Thornbirds" star Richard Chamberlain), who he suspects gave him HIV years before. But the show throws a wrench in the works as E!Online reports that "Family Ties" dad Michael Gross shows up as a food critic who takes a liking to Saul.
Watch some sneak peaks from the Jan. 2 episode below:
Note: This video will expire on Jan. 3.
Who do you think we'll be saying goodbye to soon? Holly, Dr. Karl, Jonathon? Are you excited (or is "nervous" the word) to see what Tommy's visit has in store for the family?

I liked the show in the beginning, but the writers have pushed too many of my buttons with all the controversial storylines. I don't enjoy the show anymore.
B&S sort of went adrift for two seasons there, but it seems to have found some direction this season. I'm glad for the reduction of cast -- don't miss Robert or Rebecca at all -- and I'd be perfectly happy if Holly were to depart as well, despite how much I adore Patricia Wettig.
It will be nice to see Tommy back, though. And I've very much enjoyed having Ken Olin on the show as of late. If things keep going as they are, I'll definitely keep watching.
The Scotty's affair storyline was the WORST plot development ever. It reeked of "let's just do it even though it's out of character and then we'll explain it later."
Awful. Just awful.
I think we'll continue to see Holly fade away as a character.
And excited for Tommy's return with Rose. This should be very interesting!
I hope so that Annie (Odette Yutsman) will leave. Her character absolutely doesn't work for me, and I have reservations about Odette's 'acting' abilities. Also I don'T like this real life - on screen couple concept. Doesn't work...
I saw 15 min. of it on Jan. 2. This show is getting so boring and very stupid. After 20 min. I turned it off. Every time I went back for a peek, it was still boring. It once was one of my favorite shows. Too bad. I think when they lost the winery, they couldnt find a story line. Kitty with that young student? totally disgusting and not believable in her situation. Nora and her man? booooring!!
