'America's Next Top Model': Ann takes home Cycle 15 crown and coveted spread
What's more satisfying than watching Tyra Banks awkwardly embrace your rural American family? Winning "America's Next Top Model," perhaps.
It's a tough call for Ann, the very skinny, 19-year-old Texan who cried tears of joy and nerves all the way through the Cycle 15 finale before ultimately taking home this season's bonus-sized trophy... a spread in Vogue Italia.
Easily the competition's most high-fashion prize to date, both Ann and runner-up Chelsey wanted it badly. And for a while, it seemed like either could bring it home.
Ann, who's wowed the judges all season with her photo shoots, didn't nail the CoverGirl challenge or look as confident as Chelsey out there on the runway. Chelsey seemed confident this would all work to her advantage, and she was suitably shocked when she didn't win.
But that's usually the case with the fashion-obsessed contestant who loses out to the natural talent.
So what do you think -- will you be paying the grossly-inflated cost for Ann's appearance in the imported fashion mag?

Well, it was Ann, and we all are glad. Most of us anyway. True, Chelsea had the "know how" and the walk, but that's not always what is looked for in a top model. Things like poise and personality and walk can be worked on. Chelsea's face is rather bland and forgettable. Ann also stands for all the underdogs who dare to dream. Rather irritating to see Chelsea claiming to be the best, and sure that she would win. Yea Ann!!!
Chelsey was covered with tattoos. What designer wants a model who's tattoos clash with the clothes or limits her wardrobe choices. Plus all the extra time in make up & money to cover them up for photo shoots.
I was really shocked when Ann won ANTM because seriously she looks and talks like a man did you see her adams apple? C'mon they gave it to her I don't know why 'cause Chelsey was way better than that ugly thing named Ann. At finale she couldn't even walk she looked stiff like a stick
I'm really glad that Ann won. I simply loved her genuine personality. She's so beautiful, not only on the outside, but inside as well. Chelsey is a back stabbing mean girl. Way to go Ann, you deserved to win!! Lots of luck in your modelling future!!
I am sooo happy Ann won, Congrats!!!!!!!!! Finally a reality show that actually got it right. Chelsey was conceited and thought she knew it all, I'm sorry but her face looked old. Ann is fresh and beautiful. She's the girl next door, and gives hope to girls and women every where. She deserves to win.
This season really should have been called Italy's Next Top Model.
Cavalli said it himself ... Chelsey for America, Ann for Italy.
Ann will be riding on training wheels for a while.
...well, ANTM got it wrong...again! They are developing a pattern of picking winners who look (and often sound) like men. Ann looked like a deer in the headlights/zombie in the fashion show. She should have been runner up, since she's not prepared to do commercials or public appearances.
What...? Ann owned Chelsey in the commercials, and I thought her voice over was great as well. Chelsey is 23, Ann is what, 19? Ann has the fresh looking, while Chelsey tries to look fresh constantly. Chelsey has a forgettable face, while Ann's face I cannot forget. Sure, Chelsey had more knowledge, but that's because she's so old already. If she hasn't made it by now, then she's never going to make it. Chelsey back-stabbed Ann and talked dirt about her during the whole finale, and Ann didn't say one negative thing about her. Chelsey was selfish and entitled, Ann was the opposite. Ann was high-fashion, Chelsey wasn't. So many advantages for Ann, and you know what, I am over the moon that she won. She deserved it.
What a joke! I just wanted to throw up every time she came on the screen.
out of curiosity, when has a winner of this show ever done a commercial for cover girl (outside of a challenge during the competition)? this was mostly for high-end fashion, so i think the right girl won (not that it matters because we probably won't see either girl again after the winner claims her photo prize, so). but, hell, if i didn't get sick of hearing ann go on and on about how awkward and badly bullied she was or the other one whine about how she deserved it the most or how she wanted it more than anyone else, blah, blah, blah. jesus. don't the interviewers ask different questions or does tyra just love to repeat the same sound bite over and over again?
