2011 Golden Globes snub 'True Blood': This could get bloody

We were pretty shocked that The Hollywood Foreign Press had no love for "True Blood's" Season 3 in the Golden Globes 2011 nominations. The Zap2it obsession was neither nominated in the best drama category nor did any of the actors get a nomination.
The series was previously nominated for both Season 1 and 2. And Anna Paquin has been nominated twice, and took home a trophy. So, what's up with the Season 3 snub?
Season 3 focused on some pretty heavy relationship stories between Sookie, Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and literally broke down the Vampire hierarchy in a brutal season-long battle. Plus, we're always shocked that Nelsan Ellis' complete transformation into the bawdy Lafayette gets so little awards appreciation.
Not to mention, there were some great guest stars who acted their fang-ies off: James Frain as the love-starved stalker Franklin Mott? Denis O'Hare as the vampire king who loses it when his kingdom falls apart and his life partner is murdered by Eric?
Season 4 was continually spellbinding and let's not forget why we tune in to TV in the first place: "True Blood" always entertains.
So, on behalf of HBO's "True Blood," we say to The Hollywood Foreign Press: Bite us!

The Golden Globes has been and always will be one big joke. It's a bunch of old cronies getting together for free stuff from the movie studios.
Season 3 was a mess, and it doesn't leave me optimistic for Season 4. I'm not surprised at all that it didn't get any noms.
Sadly, True Blood 'jumped the shark" in S2 and lamely tried to make up for it in S3. You are 100% correct about actors like Ellis, Frain and O'Hare should be recognized but Paquin never should have been. It may have been an intense love of the show, but her performance is weak at best (please revisit the scene from S1 where she yells "help, somebody, pleeease" when she finds Dawn dead - really?) I used to think the 'feel' of the opening credits mirrored the mood and atmosphere of what they achieved in S1 - now they feel out of place with the hot mess they have created. What they have done with Hot Shot - Sookies Crystal Chandelier? If TB cares about being recognized, the writers will cloister themselves in a room for a month and rewatch the first episode of the first season to try and recapture the magic that was created at that time. I still enjoy the show, but imagine it's like being on crack - you want moremoremoremoremore and then suddenly you crash. They won't be able to sustain it, which will be a shame because the possibilities with all these other actors is amazing.
All I have to say is this is bull$hit! Furthermore, if you haters didn't like season 3...then don't watch! I can't stand all the so-called critics...don't quit you're day job bc your have no skills at critiquing!
I don't get HBO so I always buy the season when it comes out. What I do know about this show is this it is BASED on a BOOK SERIES the writers are doing their best I'm sure next season is meant to have spokie in love with Eric really in love and a war going on with the fairys not to mention a whole lot of other crap. If u read the books you'll understand they are simply trying to follow those as closly as they can while still maintaining a new view and adding more action and drama.
True Blood had some of the best drama, action of the season, screw those Golden Globe farts!
They didnt get nominated because the people that vote for these things are a bunch of snobs who look down on True Blood because it involves vampires, even though it can be enjoyed on a much deeper level. They write it off because it's a fantasy show, while at the same time nominate The Walking Dead?! Whatever.
they suck poop... True Blood season 3 was the best so far, I dont know what the heck these haterz r watching but it wasnt true blood cause what I saw was AMAZING
Paquin is an awful actress with a hideously bad accent. Hence the "snub".
What a fking disaster. Denis O’Hare stole every scene and was just…fascinating. Go F yourselves, Hollywood Foreign Press (the Golden Globes voters).
And Walking Dead, with a 6 episode season, got a Best Drama nomination, but True Blood and the final season of Lost didnt?!
