'The Next Iron Chef': Forgione or Canora FTW? Vote!
It's down to two on "The Next Iron Chef."New York chefs Marc Forgione and Marco Canora withstood some pretty harrowing challenges and tough competitors (including Ming Tsai) to be the last chefs standing for the finale Sunday night (Nov. 21).
And after withstanding all that, the winner gets to do it all over again ... and again as the newest in-house competitor on "Iron Chef America," following in the footsteps of Michael Symon and Jose Garces before him.
Here's a look back at the competition:
Chef Forgione - As the son of New York's Larry Forgione, culinary creations are in Marc's blood. The mohawked chef has only won two challenges: The Secret Ingredient challenge for Resourcefulness: pickles and the Chairman's Innovation challenge to update a roadside diner classic. It was his masterful use of lobster for the Seduction challenge that landed him in the finals.
Chef Canora - He's actually racked up the most wins for the season, two Secret Ingredient challenges -- Respect: potatoes and Seduction: cocktail -- and three Chairman's challenges -- Resourcefulness: two dishes from fish caught, Inspiration: buffet display and Seduction: three dishes from a secret luxury ingredient.

The only problem with Chef Canora is that he seems like a creep. I didn't like the subterfuge he used to get advantages. The show should be about cooking, not cunning. If he wins, I don't think I'll watch him. Hope Forgione wins, he's got the talent AND a good personality.
I'd like Forgione to win, but Canora seems to just be on a roll and hot coming into the finale, so I think Canora will win.
I actually was rooting for Chef Michael Tsai. Was sad to see him go. I don't like Conora's attitude so I vote for Forgione.
For the love of god, Forgione. I used to like Canora, but he's such a whiner. Every challenge, he's running around crying about something. I half expect him to run around Kitchen Stadium, trip on some wires and fall into a fat fryer.
It seemed like Ming Tsai would take this competition easily. He has such sterling credentials. Maybe the whole contest is a sham, and an Italian replacement for Batali was the desired outcome. I would not like to think that, yet I don't feel either finalist really surpassed Tsai overall. And I thought Canora's "Seduction" entrees were rather over the top, particularly those two pieces of asparagus in blood-colored broth.
I was very disappointed when Chef Tsai was eliminated. He is the best of the bunch. I won't be watching the winner compete. Both are not as good as Chef Tsai. I voted for Canora because there was no other choice.

Thank you Judges for choosing Forgione. Canora is obnoxious, always thinking someone is trying to sabotage him. If he had won and was featured in one of the shows, I would not watch it.
Ming Tsai should have won that competition -he should be going to kitchen stadium. He had 1 flaw in that last competition and it was not really a flaw- 1 judge liked the Lardo. It was perfectly seductive food and they cheated him. Ming Tsai should be proud-he earned the title of Next Iron Chef. He consistently put out top notch food and they cheated him. I never watching another episode of next Iron Chef. Canora is an abnoxious, paranoid *** who made much more mistakes in previous rounds and several in that last round and he should not be going to kitchen stadium.
I am not watching the finals. Ming should have won. If they picked Canora because they are gunning for another Italian to replace Batali,CANORA IS NO BATALI, NO WAY. He did not cook superb food and it should be about the cooking. Ming excelled and he is THE NEXT IRON CHEF. I will not watch since Ming will not be cooking in the finals. But you are a winner in my book, Chef Tsai!
