'The Cape': First on-air promo, plus the full-length trailer
NBC announced its midseason schedule Monday (Nov. 15), and Monday night it already had promos ready to go for one of its new series, "The Cape."The show is about a cop (David Lyons of "ER") who's framed for murder, then presumed dead in a shootout, after which he goes underground and takes on the persona of The Cape, his son's favorite comic-book hero. He joins forces with a young woman (Summer Glau, "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") to try to wrest control from the corrupt forces that run his city.
You might not get all that from the 30-second promo NBC is running on the air, which is more about style and mood than storytelling. But NBC also has a full-length trailer online that showcases the rest of the cast -- which includes Keith David, Jennifer Ferrin, Dorian Missick, James Frain, Martin Klebba, Vinnie Jones and Ryan Wynott -- and gives a little better sense of what's going on.
Both videos are below. "The Cape" has a two-hour premiere at 9 p.m. ET Sunday, Jan. 9 and moves to Mondays the following night.

Can't wait till next year for The Cape!
The Cape is going to be an awesome show for Summer. We wish her and the entire cast the best while filming the upcoming episodes. Its going to be fun to watch for all ages from kids to adult. :) I hope that it not only entertains the audience but also we get some life lessons along the way especially for the young and impressionable people.

Saw a preview of The Cape on Sunday Night Football. Plus, it was the promos they had when they previewed it over the summer.
The Cape isn't a summer show, it is debuting in January...........
Hope it does well. The creator of the series, Tom Wheeler, is SO passionate about the show. I hope it lives up to his expectations and ours (or at least those of us looking forward to it)
This will hopefully be good. I am looking forward this as much as I am the Human Target and V season 2 premieres!

Looking better then I expected. Looking forward to it.
I like the Circus angle, as it's where he learns his skills.Think of the heroes who have been involved with the circus or were trained there.Robin, Hawkeye and Nightcrawler. He also gets his mask during the second episode.
