ABC has one piece of its midseason schedule in place. The Shonda Rhimes-produced medical drama "Off the Map," about young doctors working at a remote clinic in South America, will premiere at 10 p.m. ET Jan. 12 in the timeslot now occupied by "The Whole Truth." The show stars Martin Henderson, Caroline Dhavernas, Mamie Gummer, Rachelle Lefevre and Zach Gilford. [@shondarhimes]

Speaking of "The Whole Truth," one of its cast members has already picked up a new job. Christine Adams has joined the cast of FOX's "Terra Nova" as a resident of the time-traveling colony. [EW]

"The Office" star Rainn Wilson teaming up with Oprah Winfrey? Believe it. Wilson is talking with Winfrey's OWN channel about doing web content or on-air interstitials based on his website SoulPancake. [E! Online]

For the second straight year, ABC will feature Beyonce in a Thanksgiving night special. The 90-minute special, "Beyonce's I Am ... World Tour," will include performances and backstage footage from her latest tour. It's scheduled for Nov. 25. [TV Guide]

"Grey's Anatomy" and "Criminal Minds" producer Mark Gordon is developing a cop drama at CBS called "One Police Plaza." The show from "CSI: NY" writers Linda Fairstein and Kenneth Solarz will focus on a female police commissioner. [Variety]

ABC's summer show "Rookie Blue" has added Camille Sullivan ("Shattered," Syfy's "Taken") as a regular for Season 2, while "NCIS" veteran Lauren Holly will have a guest role. [Hollywood Reporter]

I love all the cast members in the new show Off the map.

That is kind of surprising. Most people, including myself, thought Off the Map would premiere after Desperate Housewives and ABC would move Brothers and Sisters to Wednesdays at 10 since that slot has not been kind to rookies.
Personally, I would move Castle to Wednesdays. It fits with the comedies tonally better than any other hour-long show ABC has and I think it has picked up all the viewers it's ever going to get. It makes more sense to premiere try a new show after TV's #1 show while filling holes with reliable players. Ah well.. time will tell if OtM is another doomed drama joining the scrapheap along with so many other shows that premiered in the same slot the past few years.

Rookie Blue is the best show of all the ones mentioned above. Why isn't ABC re-airing it instead of the Friday reruns or before Grey's Anatomy?. This way, it could be better known by the time the second season comes.
