New 'Hulk' series in the works; Mayim Bialik joins 'Big Bang Theory' full-time

guillermo-del-toro-getty.jpgYour daily helping of bite-sized TV news:

ABC and Marvel have enlisted two sci-fi heavyweights, Guillermo del Toro ("Hellboy," "Pan's Labyrinth") and David Eick ("Battlestar Galactica"), to develop a new "Incredible Hulk" series for the network. The two will share story credit and be executive producers of the project; Eick is writing the pilot script, which del Toro will direct. [Deadline]

You'll be seeing a lot more of Mayim Bialik on "The Big Bang Theory." The former "Blossom" star has been made a cast regular on the CBS comedy for the remainder of the season, though she won't necessarily appear in every episode. [Deadline]

Lindsay Price, late of "Eastwick," will guest on "CSI: NY" later this season. She'll play a woman whose past returns to haunt her in an episode that's likely to air in February. [EW]

"Weeds" creator Jenji Kohan says the show's seventh season next year could well be its final one. "Seven years is a good run, and I'd rather leave while on top," she says. [TV Guide]

AMC is dipping its toes into the unscripted series waters with a project about boxing trainer Freddie Roach. It would focus on Roach's work with fighters and his struggles with the onset of Parkinson's disease. [The Live Feed]

Rachael Leigh Cook has joined Eric McCormack in TNT's pilot "Perception." She'll play an FBI agent who recruits McCormack, an eccentric neurosurgeon and a former professor of hers, to work for the bureau. [Deadline]

Ugh!! They're killing Big Bang Theory by adding Mayim Bialik as a cast regular. I can hardly stand to watch the episodes she's in, let alone having her full-time!! Her character is one of the worst I've ever seen on TV - even worse than Sheldon (if that's even possible) She seems to like playing that type of character as I noticed she was pretty close to the same on Secret Life of an American Teenager.

"Seven years is a good run, and I'd rather leave while on top."

Yes, that would have been about 3 seasons ago, Ms. Kohan. Although I will say I'd be up for a Shane and Silas spin-off.

Come toward the light of Community...BBT is the Sheldon show for all intents and purposes

She is too ugly for TV, poor thing needs to retire.

1) Don't get me wrong, I love BBT, but they've "Miller / Boyette'ed" (producers of Family Matters & Perfect Strangers) the show. They have started to rely too much on a few stock "go to" gags just like Family Matters. Sheldons crazy laugh, "you're in my spot!", etc.

2) A new Incredible Hulk show? Ugh... thats gonna suck just from the lame CGI I'm sure they'll use. Thats the problem with shows today... to much unbelievable CGI. See Bill Bixbys Hulk... occasionally the effects were cheezy, but they were very well done. Same with Bionic Woman and 6 Million Dollar Man and Dukes of Hazzard. The CGI versions just got too fake looking.

You are all crazy, she is a great addition (at least in the short term) to Big Bang. I dread the on-going Leonard-Penny relationship drama myself.

What ever happened to Lelie Winkle(Sara Gilbert) they did an annoucemnt like this for her too and she appeared in handful of episodes and never appeared again.

I have to agree with both Linda & SteveO on this one, espically about bringing back The Hulk. Its time has pasted.
