NBC Considering 3-hour sitcom block Thursdays, '30 Rock' at 10 p.m.
NBC does not have the best decision-making history at 10 o'clock -- just a year ago they were still experimenting with the doomed "Jay Leno Show."
Now, with the current run of "The Apprentice" coming to an end and two mid-season comedies with no place to go, EW reports NBC might stretch its comedy block through 11 p.m. ET on Thursdays.
According to a source, the network is considering moving "30 Rock" to 10 p.m. to accommodate the return of "Parks and Recreation" in its current 8:30 p.m. slot -- which it's only occupied for the current season.
"The Office" and "Community" aren't likely to be affected by the proposed change, but freshman sitcom "Outsourced" would likely get bumped back an hour to 10:30 p.m. In its place, a new series called "Perfect Couples," which NBC has saved for mid-season.
Still, there's always the possibility that it would just sub in one of its several "Law & Order" offerings instead -- but given the poor ratings for "The Apprentice," a shake-up isn't out of the question.
Would you follow "30 Rock" or "Outsourced" to the later hour -- or are six episodes of comedy in a row just too much?

I'd follow them anywhere!
Terrible idea, but this is NBC, so that isn't surprising.
Who cares, it's a DVR world we live in now. As long as Parks & Recreation is back on the schedule I'm happy.
I think they should try Chase in that time slot.
I don't think it's a terrible idea. Most people I know DVR the Thursday night lineup anyway and I don't think 30 Rocks ratings will suffer. Its never been a highly rated show to begin with. I just want Parks and Rec back. Still angry that NBC put it on the shelf for the first half of this season. The show had really found its footing last season and now I feel like most of the non-savvy TV viewers will think its gone forever. Stupid NBC making stupid decisions all the time. And they wonder why they are the lowest rated network. Way to build a following for a really great show. They pull Parks and Rec and instead give us crap like Outsourced.
Honestly, it does not matter what NBC does at this point, they are a pathetic network. Each year they fall in dead last to others (not including CW).. They really need to go back to the drawing board.
While it was sad Parks & Recreation got bumped till mid-season, people are thinking that it was done for no other reason besides introducing Outsourced. They delayed the filming for season 3 because Amy was 8 months pregnant and very close to giving birth, which she did in August. I believe they have begun filming already.
I for one have been speculating this scheduling idea since Outsourced was given a full-season pick up and can’t wait! They need to do a good deal of advertizing for this 3-hr comedy night, if they do it. It has not been done in about 20 years or so, but I think it could give NBC that edge they have struggled to find for a while now.
Out of all those shows I only watch The Office and usually the day after it airs so this won't change a thing for me.
Does this mean reality TV is dying? If so, it's about time!
YES! If this brings back P&R I am all for it. I hope they put Outsourced at the end of the block, that way I can skip it.
Bring back ER!!!!!
lol
