'Dancing With the Stars': 5 reasons Brandy will win, 5 reasons she won't
In anticipation of the "Dancing With the Stars" semifinals, we're assessing the advantages and disadvantages of the final four. And after turning our attention to Bristol Palin and then Kyle Massey, it's now time to check in on Brandy.
The singer and actress came into the competition with two clear advantages: a lot of recognition with the audience and experience in live performance.
That helped her become the season's most consistent high scorer and one of the most favored of the final four. So while victory seems the most likely (and appealing) option for a number of reasons, there are still a few things that could hold Brandy back.
5 reasons Brandy will win:
1. Scores - Brandy tops the leader board for four weeks running, going into the semifinals. The advantage is already hers, regardless of how many people call in for her.
2. Seems sincere - "DWTS" contestants do more than their share of grandstanding, but Brandy's interaction with the audience has never felt as canned as some of her competition.
3. She looks the part - She's young, she's fit and she looks gorgeous in a ball gown. Brandy's looks are tailor-made for "DWTS."
4. Modesty - Genuinely shocked during her weekly praise, Brandy has been humble throughout the competition. Viewers recognize how grateful she is to remain on the show each week and might choose to reward her for it.
5. Maks - Just because he's such a familiar pro, doesn't mean Maksim Chmerkovskiy has ever taken a partner all the way on "DWTS." He's never made a winner and he's clearly determined to.
5 reasons Brandy will lose:
1. Maks - Their week 8 "instant dance" made it quite clear that Maks, despite being one of the most talented and appealing pros, can also be a liability. His habit of talking back to the judges could rub voters the wrong way.
2. That Achilles chin - Skill-wise, there isn't really anything we can call Brandy out on. We think she's flawless. But Carrie Ann Inaba has complained several times about Brandy failing to hold her chin high enough during her choreography. Hardly a deal breaker, but it could affect scores this late in the game.
3. Jennifer Grey - Ignoring the popularity and dark horse status of lesser-skilled Bristol and Kyle, Brandy's real competition is Jennifer Grey. The two have been the top-scorers all season, and, if there aren't any surprises, it will likely come down to the two of them.
4. Forgetful voters - A big problem for favorites is that people tend to assume they're safe. If Brandy's fans don't really turn out for her in the last two weeks, it might not be enough to keep her in the game.
5. Little to gain - Brandy doesn't have the star-making buzz of Bristol and Kyle or the comeback story of Jennifer. She's the most famous one left in the game, and, win or lose, her next studio album will already be buoyed by her turn on "DWTS."

I hope they don't win. She kind of has an attitude and although it works with maks, its rubbing me and some voters the wrong way. I am pulling for Jennifer (because she is naturally talented) or Bristol (have a soft spot for her, no performance background but is still kicking it.)
I want Brandy and Maks to win. Maks has deserved it many times in the past. I feel now is his time. Brandy is a wonderful partner for Maks. They have such a wonderful chemistry and they obviously get along so well. She's a beautiful dancer and person. She's been through so much in her career and her personal life it would be nice for this to happen for her. Brandy and Maksim for the win!
Brandy will win. It is time for Maks to win, and It is time for a Black woman to win. We get Played almost every year.. I will Be so excited..Just like I was in 2008!!!

I agree that she is rubbing viewers the wrong way...she is far too intense and Maks has an attitude. Jennifer is much too emotional and Bristol (bless her heart) just isn't a contender. Now Kyle and Lacey, THOSE are some winners! I look forward to watching them dance every week! He's just so darn charming that its hard NOT to vote for him!
