'Avalon High': 'Life Unexpected's' Britt Robertson on reinventing the Round Table

avalon-high-320-abc.pngDisney's latest original TV movie, "Avalon High," stars "Life Unexpected's" Britt Robertson as Allie, a new girl in town who has a sneaking suspicion that the kids at her new school are actually reincarnations of members of King Arthur's Court.

Though Allie and Robertson's "Life Unexpected" character Lux seem extremely different on a surface level, Robertson tells Zap2it that they're more alike than you might think. "She's a pretty average chick. She does a lot of traveling with her parents," she says. "She's just a fun, feisty, outgoing girl. But she hasn't really had a lot of stability as far as far as life and social situations go, so in that sense she's a lot like Lux."

Allie quickly makes friends at school, which Robertson says is "not very Lux-like." She's working on a term paper about the legacy of King Arthur, and the more time she spends with her new crowd, the more parallels she draws between them and the Knights of the Round Table.

"It's just full of action, and there's a little romance," she says. "There are all these elements of action and mystery that come into play, that with 'Life Unexpected,' I wasn't exactly used to."

The action comes in when Mordred, the famed traitor of Camelot, returns. It's up to Allie and her friends -- including super-cute quarterback Will (Gregg Sulkin) -- to stop Mordred from winning and history from repeating.

"I had so much fun shooting it," Robertson says. "It's a Disney movie! It was a blast."

i just finished watching and im shocked. ally is a DUDE! totally ruined it for me

I watched this movie to see if Gregg Sulkin can really act because I refuse to call what he did/does in the "Wizards" series "acting."
I was not disappointed, he really can act. Now if only the rest of the Wizards cast would learn how.

Britt did an amazingly spectacular job with the role in the movie.

Her acting and ability to bring the character she portrayed in the movie was terrific.

The movie was great as well.

She has a bright future ahead of her...

The movie and acting was great till the ending (no reflection on the acting, referring to the storyline). It should be re-written. The ending was extremely twisted, to the point where it ruined the whole movie. King Arthur is a male and what happened to the part of the story where King Arthur's evil step-brother was suppose to be Mordrid? Did Allie have an evil step-brother? Did we miss something?

I liked her acting, which she did well, but the way the movie ended was very disappointing.

I thought it was okay but if it would have followed the book it would have been a whole lot better. The ending was very disappointing.

I was extremely disappointed with the ending; it failed to live up to the book and Allie was never meant to be Arthur (What about the Lady of the Lake???).

I also was surprised by the ending- I mean I think it's great to empower girls and everything, but it just seemed strange to me, especially since they kept all the buildup with the story being perfect for Will being King Arthur. I would have prefered if they kept her as the lady of the lake but still let her be the one to finish Mordrid. That would have been cool while much truer to the book and much more sensical. The whole battle scene also felt a little cheesy to me.
But aside from that, I thought it was really good. The rest of the movie was cool and fun
