'Arrested Development' movie: 'Sooner rather than later,' Will Arnett says

will-arnett-gi-320.jpg"Running Wilde" has finished shooting -- at least for the time being -- which means it's time for the latest round of chatter about the "Arrested Development" movie.

Today's incremental development comes courtesy of "Running Wilde" star/co-creator Will Arnett, who says the film is, in fact, "something we plan on doing."

"I can't really speak to ['Arrested' creator Mitch Hurwitz's] timetable," Arnett tells Gawker. "But I would suspect that it's going to be sooner rather than later now, I will say that."

Arnett wouldn't offer any hints on the storyline for the film, although he does allow that there are "some really funny ideas being kicked around."

"If it goes in the direction Mitch is suggesting, it'll be super hilarious," he adds.

FOX has yet to say anything about the future off "Running Wilde," which has struggled in the ratings this fall (Tuesday's episode drew less than 3 million people). If it doesn't go past its current 13-episode order, then presumably Hurwitz, Arnett and Co. might have more time to devote to getting the "Arrested" movie off the ground.

Running Wilde will not get a back 9 order and will be cancelled. With less than 3 million viewers and only a 1.3 in the 18-49 demos, it's doomed.

Please let the Arrested movie go! I loved the show, it's been too long since the show went off the air. No matter how small of budget the movie will have (which would be the only way this movie gets approval to be made.)it will die at the box office and never be as funny as the show.

could we please get more support for running wilde--- SO funny, with great characters, it's hilarious and so much better than these stupid reality shows for brainless people to watch...no need for scripts--just watching people with no talent...no writers doing incredible things like mitch hurwitz and will arnett writing great humor. FOX needs to keep it going.
