'American Idol': Season 10 promos take us back

GoogleWatching the first promos for the new season of "American Idol," you wouldn't know that the show has undergone extensive changes since it was last on the air.
Instead, the show wants to remind you of its star-making past. In the 30-second spot above and a 60-second ad (at the end of the post) that started airing during FOX's World Series coverage, past "Idol" winners appear in their hometowns, reminding us that the next Idol can come from anywhere. (We also get glimpses of what appear to be a couple of lucky auditioners from this year.)
It's a familiar theme in early promos for the show. For the past several years, the initial ads for the coming "Idol" season have tended to focus on the dreams-come-true aspect of the show. Still, we would have guessed that early ads for this season might have featured new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

The ads are great! I'm glad there was no mention of the judges-it's time to remmeber the show isn't for/ or about the judges-it's about having a dream and going after it! It's one of the few shows on TV you can watch and have good feelings about, and I'll be watching in January!
Promo all right as their have been a couple of stars from the past seasons. But think the judges should have some exposure. Personally, I cannot wait to see Steven Tyler in action--only reason to watch the show. Not only is he a Rock Star, he is at times a train wreck in the "perfect rock star" fashion. Now this guy knows how to put on a show.
