TV ratings: 'Dancing With the Stars' scores again Monday

A highly touted "Monday Night Football" matchup on ESPN and a deciding game in the baseball playoffs appeared to steal some viewers from broadcast TV Monday. Several shows, including "Hawaii Five-0," "The Event" and "House," dipped significantly compared to last week. ABC and "Dancing With the Stars," however, escaped relatively unscathed.

ABC averaged 17.2 million viewers and a 10.9 rating/17 share in households Monday night, pretty close to its totals a week ago. CBS (10.25 million, 6.4/10) was down about a million viewers from last week but still finished second by a good margin over FOX (7.55 million, 4.6/7). NBC came in fourth with 5.6 million people and a 3.5/5, while The CW drew 1.8 million viewers and a 1.2/2.

(Ratings for ESPN's "Monday Night Football" telecast and TBS' baseball coverage will be available later in the day or on Wednesday.)

Adults 18-49 also favored ABC, which scored a 3.8 rating in the demographic. CBS came in second with a 3.4, followed by FOX at 2.7. NBC (1.9) fell below the 2.0 mark but was still a full point better than The CW (0.9).

The news broke that Monday Night Football was in fact had a 45 minute delay due to heavy rain but I'm still not pleased why the "stop watching DWTS" isn't going away The Event STILL need a bigger audience as does Chase, Chuck and Hawaii Five - O. These are the shows that STILL need a full season pickup.

What happened to H50?? Castle beat H50? CBS must be pissed. They had huge expectations of that show.

Look at those numbers...

Well now we know for a FACT that only women and effeminate gays are watching 'Dancing With The Stars' and 'Castle'.

When the Event started out it reminded me of a Lost/24 hybrid. Now we can add V to the mix. Some originality would be helpful. Not giving up on it though. Tonights No Ordinary Family is lighter, but more entertaining.

And House keeps dropping. I can't stand that show anymore. Huddy crushed it.

why doesn't that divet just use my headline: "Anutter butterfried leading tower de pizza nite for dominatrix pantyhose ABCDEFG." Divet's headine says the samething but the riting is so much less intresting. Haha lol porr, sad thin. Now off to Frodo.

U said it M EOW! Preta should jus copy & paste from u. It what her and her team does anywey (though not very weel either). Haha poor, sad things. Oh, cant wait to see what that angry kitty Sylvester haz to say today. Anutter poor thing. Haha lol.

well CHUCK say hello to your back 9 or 6

Shawn other reasons DWTS is NFL proof is because of millions of old couples and families watch together. You can say the same thing about AI and AGT.

DWTS is a great fun show, no wonder millions rather watch it over reality stuff such as grown men loses playing footbal and NBC cable type badly made Monday shows.
