'The X Factor's' Simon Cowell: Justin Bieber 'put himself forward to judge'

"American Idol" has welcomed its new judges, but it's time for former "Idol" judge Simon Cowell to nail down the "X Factor" judges. And he tells "Extra" that he's already had some big names speak to him about it -- including Justin Bieber!"He put himself forward to judge some of the episodes," says Cowell.
Cowell can't give too much away, but he says "The X Factor" has plans for a huge A-list star to joint he show. "We had a phone call from someone on the weekend, someone very well known who out of the blue wanted to be a judge on the show. Literally out of the blue, and it's one of the most famous singers in the world," he said.
"The X Factor" will debut in September 2011.

Uh... hasn't Beiber only had like 1 or 2 hits? I've only ever heard one of his songs on the radio. Beiber is just another Jonas Brothers... huge for a year or 2 and then fade away to obscurity. Wake me when Beiber has the 16+ yr longevity of Timberlake @ #1. Then maybe you can judge something.
Holy cow--not what I really wanted to say. Simon, whose criticism for the tiniest mistake, is pimping this kid too. Guess anyone who can will make money off of him while the making is good. He is not Leo DeCaprio, who not only grew in stature, but also in talent. If I were this Bieber kid, I would start taking acting lessons, for when his under 15 fan base grows up.
