In another bad sign for ABC's struggling drama "The Whole Truth," the network will pre-empt the Nov. 3 episode in favor of the special "In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: All Access Nashville." It's the second time the show has been pre-empted this fall. Roberts will interview country music stars Brad Paisley, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood in the special. [ABC]

Syfy has greenlit production of a back-door pilot for another "Battlestar Galactica" spinoff. "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome," which began life as an online series, will follow a young William Adama through the first Cylon war. [TV Squad]

"Human Target," which returns to FOX on Nov. 17, could stick around a little longer than planned; the network has ordered two extra scripts for Season 2. Meanwhile, CBS has extended "Rules of Engagement's" season from 22 episodes to 24. [Deadline]

The FCC has stepped into the dispute between FOX and Cablevision. The head of the commission's Media Bureau sent a letter to both sides Friday (Oct. 22) urging them to "conclude your negotiations promptly" so Cablevision subscribers in and around New York City can see FOX programming again. [Hollywood Reporter]

Bob Cochran, the co-creator of "24," is developing a limited series for Starz based on the life of Allan Pinkerton, the 19th-century founder of the Pinkerton Detective Agency. Gerard Butler will be an executive producer along with Cochran and Angela Mancuso. [Deadline]

"Sex and the City" star Kristin Davis has signed on to star in "The Happiness Project," a comedy project in development at NBC. It's based on a memoir by Gretchen Rubin; "Chuck" and "How I Met Your Mother" veteran Kristin Newman will write and executive produce, while Davis will be a co-exec producer. [Deadline]

Good, she is so ugly!

Loved the heads up on Battlestar Blood and Chrome. The only problem I have is their uncertainty about Nico Cortez returning as HUSKER. There is no question how awesome he was in RAZOR. I would've thought part of why they decided to do this idea is because they were lucky enough to already have the perfect actor for the role. Hollywood confuses me sometimes. Otherwise, great news!

What the heck???? It's Flashforward all over again....Next they will be moving to a different day and time...ABC...I am loosing patience with you!!!!

Let's see... we have a failing show like "The Whole Truth." Do we promote it and maybe find a new time slot? Nope. We preempt it with a music special! How are viewers supposed to get into the habit of watching when the show isn't even being aired? Sometimes the decisions made by the TV programming execs make absolutely NO sense to me at all.

No kidding, Jim P. ABC should either kill it or let it establish an audience. Don't screw the people who are looking forward to watching it.

In other bad news, my TiVo pre-empted this weeks episode because it apparently thought it had already taped it last week when it was pre-empted by the miners.
